The game was pretty nostalgic. I haven't played a horizontal endless runner in at least a decade or so.. It was fun to play. I think the voice acting should be more energetic due to how the character looks, but overall solid submission you guys made! The art is really adorable.
Nice cute runner. The reaction-times for the jumping pumpkins was a bit tight in my opinion.
Thanks for playing the game!
We thought it will make the runner a bit tense so the reaction times are short. Sorry if that didn't work with you :(
The visuals are vibrant and the voice lines add a unique touch, but the gameplay feels a bit rushed. The lane transitions could be smoother to enhance the experience, and clearer indicators for active power-ups would help players stay engaged. Overall, it's a solid entry with room for refinement. If you have a moment, I'd appreciate it if you could check out and rate my Halloween jam game too: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977
:)
The jetpack sound is a little loud (probably needs a tweak). I like the voiced sound effects though. Good infinite runner game. Not sure the camera snapping to the new lane position is necessary, seems a bit jarring. I will say that the flying skeletons are a bit difficult to tell which lane they are in (since they fly above it) maybe a large shadow below them could help indicate the lane they are in.
Looks nice, especially the cheering dead in the background. Did not expect a sidescrolling endless runner. The connection to the theme was weak. I would recommend that the mechanics should be a little more forgiving. But on the other hand, I'm not very accustomed to sidescrollers.
Thanks for your feedback. We'll consider adding 'simple', 'medium' and 'hard' mode in the game.
This is a very nice-looking game! The visuals really pop, and how well you integrated bright colors that pop into Halloween theme and setting. I also like how easy to learn and simple the controls are. Really nice job.
Thanks for playing the game. Glad you liked it!!
Mechanically pretty interesting, I don't think I've played anything like it. Solid idea and pretty clean implementation. My main feedback is I had trouble reading the screen. Animating the jump between lanes, and providing a better indication that powerups were still active would have helped me a lot.
Thanks for playing this game and giving the feedback. Sorry you had trouble reading the text. The downloadable version works better than Web build.
Oh I was able to read the text, what I was having trouble "reading" was the game state. Like following the player character between lanes, keeping track of the current powerup etc.
Funny little game. It would be even better if lane transitions were a bit smoother. Anyway, good job!
Thanks for playing this game. Actually we wanted to have a zippy game experience.
It could use a little more polish, feels like the game ends very quickly and that there isn't much you can do to do better. Something you might want to consider is instead of teleporting between the lanes you could have the character do a quick jump animation so it feels more natural. Also it felt like getting hit by the ghost didn't have much feedback and that once you get hit you're gonna lose all your lives. And speaking of feedback, I'd look into adding some addditional audio feedback that isn't voice lines. Also, just noticed, if you don't play in full screen you get none of the feedback of lives or candy, so I was playing totally blind till I tried going into full screen. It's a nice start, but needs a few more fixes before it's something I could see myself playing casually.
Thanks for your feedback and playing this game. Actually we wanted to have a zippy game experience.
Neat game. It was more fun than I expected a runner to be because of all the powerups! Really nice layout and I enjoyed the voice acting. Nice touch!
The game felt inevitably short because of how fast the ghost moved. Twice getting the jump cand just meant I landed on the ghost so it felt kinda pointless.
Really solid entry overall.
Thanks for playing this game. We tried to incorporate the theme of a feature working against you. Lol!
I didn't expect to see an Endless Runner here. It's a fun game, I had a good time playing it. Well done!
It could have better connected to the jam theme.
Thanks for trying out our game.
Yes, I agree the connection with visual theme is limited. It's only used at the starting of the game and one of the houses.
Cool game! This is the first time I’ve seen a side scrolling 3D endless runner with multiple lanes. The game looks beautiful, and I really enjoyed it. I like that you don’t have control over when to throw the gold; it makes you take risks to stop the ghost from getting closer. It’s a fun implementation of the twist 'a helpful feature that might turn against you.'
Honestly, I don’t fully see how the game fits the theme besides the TV model at the start. I also personally felt that the voice acting doesn’t really match the atmosphere you set up; maybe using normal SFX would fit better.
I tried the browser version, and the UI doesn’t scale correctly. Since you’re using Unity, here’s a tip on how to make the UI always scale properly for FHD resolution, as this problem has haunted me for a while.
Make sure all screen space canvases are set to UI Scale Mode: Scale With Screen Size, with the reference resolution being 1920 × 1080, and Screen Match Mode set to Match Width or Height with the match value at 0.5.
Go to Project Settings → Player → Settings for WebGL, then set the resolution width to 960 and the height to 540.
Lastly, go to your game page on itch.io and set the viewport dimensions to 960 for width and 590 for height.
That’s it! I hope that was helpful. Great work!
Wow! That was an amazing tip that you provided!
This is literally a treasure we got regarding fixing the resolution in Unity!!
We were struggling with this for a long time!!
Really cute little runner game! Gave it 4-5 attempts and had a lot of fun, good variation in items and the difficulty is well balanced. The voice lines add some nice character to the game and goes well with the atmosphere.. it actually felt like the voice lines from Dota2 for some female characters, dont know whether youve played :D Visually also very consistent. Only small issue i had was that the connection to the TV theme seems a bit less, but other than that, great game, congrats!
Thanks for playing the game. And glad you liked it!
I have not played DoTA 2. Yes, I agree the connection with visual theme is limited. It's only used at the starting of the game and one of the houses.
I like that you added voicelines for every interaction! It can be a little confusing at first, but a couple runs you'll get used to it. Good work!
Thanks for playing this game! The voice lines were a last minute idea.
That was a GREAT last minute idea :) Well done.
Very fun with awesome graphics! The dialogue sound effects were a great touch
Nice work! =)
Thanks for playing this game. Glad you liked it!
Fun little runner with great usage of provided asset pack! Like it.
For your consideration: I don't play fullscreen usually and that's how restart screen looks like now on web build:
Thanks for playing this game and providing your feedback. I agree that the game does not run well on web build.
Good job on your endless runner. It would be nice to have more visual cues to separate the power ups, hazards, and the environment.
Thanks for giving this game a try. And providing helpful suggestions!
Interesting endless runner game. Nice design of the scenes etc. Simple gameplay but cool powerups!
Thank you for playing this and sharing your feedback.
Wow, I really enjoyed that — it was a smooth experience and fits the theme perfectly.
Thanks. Glad to know you liked it.
The game looks great! And I love all the dancing skeletons at the beginning! 💀
It took me a bit to figure out which are the "good" objects vs. "bad" objects.
Fun game, but I can only stay alive for about 10 seconds on average. LOL
FYI, I played the web version, which works great at full screen.
(Inside the browser window, the end screen formatting is messed up.)
Thanks for giving our game a shot. Sorry that you found the game a bit difficult.
As others have noted, this could use a tutorial.
