This was fun. I love the artstyle, but I couldn't quite get a handle on the combat. I don't think the smash cut from the guy talking about how much he can't wait to see his daughter to him getting conked over the head with what looked like a giant muffler and dying instantly was supposed to be as funny as it was. This reminds me of that old flash game The Visitor, especially with the design of the parasite. Good stuff.

no you're supposed to be crying because it's so sad!!! 😭 Haha just kidding, I'm so glad you enjoyed it 😁

very fun to play!! the sound design and the graphics were excellent, i love the older style and it looks super nice here!! thanks for the fun experience playing!!!

This was very unique for the theme! I liked it a long, took me a second for me to get a handle of everything but I got it! the feel of the whole game was amazing too! I loved the art in it! And check out my game!

Love the artwork here. Took awhile to figure it out but it was fun once I got into it. Nice job!

Nice aesthetic and great use of the theme, I had a hard time getting the intro cutscene to work but the gameplay itself was fun & unique! Figuring out the weapons and swapping mid fight made for exciting combat despite the simple systems. Good work all around!

great interpretation of the theme, and i love the graphics too! i had two of the npcs fighting each other at one point so i just sat and watched <: good times

Great visuals! Great story!

I liked it. It stood out to me.  Love the PS2 style

UGGGGHHHH I HATE PARASITES MORE THAN ANYTHING!!! This was a really good game though with both visuals and music! You hit the nail on the head with the sound effects of the worm thing swapping bodies, it was so grossss! Also so sweet when one of the men were talking about his daughters laugh in the beginning!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I wanted to make their deaths like really sad Haha 🥹

i like the vibe of the whole game, but is it just me that found this so fricking hilarious dude, its just punching a guy and the animation is so funny to me and IDK WHY?? anyway amazing game

Developer

Definitely funny yeah xD I was dying when I first got swarmed by angry stomping men

What a cool aesthetic — I really liked it! Beautiful and interesting, and I love that old-school game vibe. The filter turned out really nice too. I also liked the mechanic where the character gets slower when low on health.

If you have a moment, I’d love if you could check out mine too! Play it here: https://kaijota.itch.io/graverun

What a cool idea! Had fun playing!

I really like the PS2 graphics my game followed the same style lol, I really liked the start screen and how it moved around when you moved your mouse that was really cool, i wish i was able to look around better in the game (That's just personal preference) I like the play on the theme dying allows you to become someone else I think that's very cool, I wish that their was more to do but I understand within the time frame that's not very manageable lol, very solid game and concept I'd love to see a full game where you like have to take over body's to blend in and complete puzzles and stuff that would be very cool but over very nice game I liked the visuals and the grunting lol, you did a very fantastic job on this!!

The PlayStation era graphics really shine

I really like that style of graphics, well done!

hahaha wow that was fun! what a neat idea!

the character models remind me of that Heavy Metal game with jack black, the headbanger dudes! the NPC pathing was kind of strange, but this was still a good bit of fun!

GG

Brutal Legend! I can totally see that lmao. And yeah the pathing needed more work, but ran outta time :[

YEAH that was it! I couldn't remember the name for some reason!

Cant go wrong with retro graphics! Its always so fun too see how much people can do in such a short time. I also think the worm/parasite concept was very unique, great work!

Developer

Thanks! Took an all nighter inbetween work shifts, but we got it done... somehow xD

Im a sucker for retro shaders and creative game! Rated ♥

Good use of the theme, the atmosphere is great and the art style is consistently good. The controls felt surprisingly good too which to me is the most important part of a game. This was very unique experience and it actually has potential to be a full game release in the future. Great job.

Very cool concept and a very effective use of the theme!

I may have played it a bit too much though. I noticed if you can get them between the double dumpster & the protruding wall beam they can't hit you! Also, got really into it at one point and clicked onto another monitor. If you continue it after the jam I'd love to have the mouse locked so I can go feral on them without worries!

Developer

Hell yeah! You can also attack with spacebar if you dont want to click. Do you know what time you got? Best record I know of is 1:46

Oh! Well, the space bar thing entirely solves the mouse problem, very nice!

Crap, I wasn't tracking my time. Though I can tell you it was definitely no speed run, hah! I was playing the long game waiting for them to be isolated.
