Oh wow, this game is soo brutal. I love how creatively you tackled the theme! Nice job!

Developer

Thank you very much.

Insane entry. The mere fact that this otherwise esoteric concept having this many ratings on it is proof how well executed this was.

I love the audio from the very start. The visuals is simple but works very well. This was really fun. Great job!

Developer

Thank you very much. I had a lot of fun making the music and sound effect.

Great stuff , as many have mentioned, it has a fairly satisfying learning curve! congrats and great stuff

Developer

Thank you very much.

Super fun! I got the beginning loop but couldn't manage to get much further than that. The laces physics worked better than I thought they would, glad the controls made sense and feel coherent, if not very difficult to get used to lol. The description about automatic actions was thought provoking too. Awesome game!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words.

I will be honest. If it would have been possible to rate 10000/5 out of creativity and fun, I would have done it. I struggled a bit until I realized I was able to put pins. The controls are well mapped on the keyboard, it is “intuitive” enough. Great idea, great conception!

Developer

Thank you so much! <3

Developer

Thank you for checking the game out, and thank you for your kind words.

Madness.... It's so crazy and out there! I just wish for simplified controls, maybe using the mouse and a way to switch it to control left hand / right hand / camera.

Developer

We are already planning it! :)

Submitted

Very lovely idea even though I couldn't tie the laces :)

Developer(+1)

Yes you can! You just need to have patience! :)

haha

i cannot remember how to tie my shoelaces. i don't even tie them the normal way (but i really appreciate that it doesn't matter here!)

Developer

You can tie them however you like, just like in real life! :)

Submitted

Crazy.  It definitely made me feel like Spongebob in that episode where he doesn't know how to tie his shoes.  I would also love to see someone who is really good at this just hit out of park.

Developer

We also felt like that when we were figuring out how to play our OWN game hahahaha

Submitted

Haven't had this much trouble with my shoelaces since I was 3. I couldn't tie it back then either.

A very unique take, well-executed. Congratulations!

Developer

But you learned eventually, right? You can do the same for this game! :)

This is such a brilliantly unique and hilarious take on the theme. I love how it highlights the idea that something we normally do automatically becomes a huge challenge when you're forced to consciously control every movement. It’s clever, frustrating in the best way, and totally memorable.

The controls feel intentionally clumsy (in a fun way), which adds to both the charm and the challenge. I also appreciated how the fingers automatically pinch the shoelace without needing to hold down keys—it's a small touch that makes a big difference.

One minor piece of feedback: I wasn’t able to change the key bindings for either index finger, while the other fingers worked fine.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game—despite being forced to confront the sad truth that I may not actually know how to tie my own shoelaces.

Developer

Thank you for your elaborate review! I'm aware of the rebind bug, I have no idea how it is possible :o I will check it out after the jam

Very unique game! good job!

Developer

Thank you! :)

At first the controls were difficult to understand. I think it might help to show the mapping on a keyboard for a better visualization. Then the hard part became when I realized I couldn't remember how to tie the shoes in this manner. Pretty cool demonstration of the idea! Overall, definitely a little too complex to start, but once you get the hang of it, it's a pretty interesting game and honestly pretty fun to mess around with like QWOP or surgeon simulator. Good stuff!

Developer

Thanks for checking out our game. We are considering simplifying the controls.

Submitted

This seems really unique and cool.... but its too complex for me... porbably skill issue. but i kinda made a simple knot. So im kinda proud. Great Game!

Developer

Did the knot stay tight when you checked your solution?

Submitted

fun, but, i feel like this has the problem surgen simulator had with hands being too complex!! and the way they solved it was by using one hand. maybe this game could have done the same and used one? idk, the point im tryin to make is that the controls were hard

Developer

That's kind of the intention of the game though, but we are considering simplifying the controls somewhat.

Submitted

Absolutely wild game! I'm not going to lie and say the controls weren't overwhelming - but I think that was most of the challenge, haha. It was nice there was the option to change your keyboard layout if you wanted, but I ended up taking a screenshot and moving it to my other monitor. I enjoyed that you could use each individual finger to hold the shoelaces, so I had to use one hand to make a loop, bring it over to the other, have that grab it, let go with the first to pull the end through, etc.

After accidentally undoing the cross step from trying to follow a 'simple shoelace' diagram online, I ended up making one big knot which held. I would've liked to make a proper knot, but very creative game!

Developer(+1)

To tell you the truth, even I haven't been able to make a proper knot yet.

This is just like tying a little kid's shoes! lol It's surprisingly fun! Unlike tying little kid's shoes! And you did a great job! Like when you tie a little kid's shoes. I really enjoyed myself. Unlike when I tie a little kid's shoes.

Really this was fun! Thank you for this submission!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Developer

Thanks for your reaction. I'll be sure to rate your game as well.

Very fun take on the theme with a thoughtful win condition to keep the simulator experience still gamified. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!  I"m done button was a very last minute addition we are very happy with! :)

Developer(+1)

We initially wanted to actually check for a knot shape, but it proved to be far too complex, especially for a development cycle this short. The solution we came up with eventually was much better.

Submitted

Very creative idea! But I’ll be honest, I did have a hard time just used to the controls. I would’ve been nice to be able to use the mouse in some way. Overall very cool idea, one of the most creative I’ve seen in the jam so far.

Developer

We definitely agree the controls need improvement!

Submitted

Cool Idea, I needed time to get used to the controls but they are pretty intuitive so that's nice.

Developer

Thank you! It's nice to hear you found them intuitive! A lot of people didn't agree with you ahhaha
