Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
You are stranded on a dead planet that's been taken over by ancient technology. You must use your time and resources, and start working on getting something to help you **get started** in this foreign world.

The original plan was to "just get the golem-robot started so you can escape this world". We want to update the game after the jam even more so in that direction!

That was a very fun and interesting game! I really had a great time building up my defenses and taking down the evil purple crabs. The art and audio are also very well done! I didn't know about the giant laser beam until after my third playthrough though haha! One feedback I have is that the aiming can kind of get a bit weird when you have a lot of crabs attacking at once. But other than that, it was a really fun game!

Thank you so much! The game needs a tutorial for sure. Shovel himself played the game on stream, and actually upgraded the arm, but also never used it! On the other hand, some people just never stop clicking! haha

So the issue is pretty obvious to us now, and we’re planning on improving things after the jam. Thanks again for playing!

fun wee game, did not realize space-ing was an option for a good bit of it. If expanded  this game feels like it could be very fun and engaging (I do still think it is good for what it is)

This game is great. It could be longer though, and could use some more upgrades. Other than that, 🦀.

What can I say, except 🦀.

Great game! Art is amazing, music and sounds are amazing (little crab walk!) You just got the full package right there. Very well done!

Neat game. Audio was a bit loud. Maybe very the pitch slightly on repeated sounds also. Graphics were great! Neat to see an isometric game with animated sprites. Good job!

This game looks so good! The art is really nice and polished, and the base gameloop already feels very solid. I'm impressed that it works on both pc and touch screen. It's very easy to accidentally activate the laser on touch screen though. Great work, I'm excited to see where this game goes if you get the chance to update it!

Developer

Thank you so much! I wanted to support touchscreens since the controls were already super simple, and it was really easy to do, even though it doesn’t work great at the moment. We’re planning to solve that with a laser button on mobile :)

I like how the game is sort of a lite tower-defense, if that makes any sense. The art style is definitely the strongest part of this game. I’m wondering, though: to get these sprites, did you render them from 3D models and then touch them up a bit to make certain parts more readable? I ask because I’m thinking of taking up a technique like this in the future, just as a way of blending two different visual mediums.

Developer

Happy you liked the art this much!

Indeed, for the characters I made them all in 3D, animated, and used a pixel art shader on them.. I used outlines to contrast with the BG more...

This was fun to play, the artstyle and animations of all the entities and sfx are extremelly good! I would even loved if more units variety were implemented because this is a good foundation for a bigger game with more unit variety, maybe more objectives to spice things up and add gameplay variety. Really good job!

Thank you for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed the sfx as well! We plan to continue adding to it, it’s definitely on our list of things to do. We greatly appreciate the feedback!
