Hi there, i like the presentation. It looks coherent, clean and could have been an actual game from that time imo.
Biggest complains would be the controls. You should clamp the velocity for sure. Deaccelerating doesnt work too well/ive not the control over my ship id like to have. Couldnt figure out the right side, but i guess its the part you couldnt finish.
Tooltips and drag for drawing is nice though. As well as destructable asteroids and sound which gives a fitting vibe. Nice entry but no finished experience in overall. Not sure about the theme and the time.
There are definitely downsides to imitating asteroids! A different, nicer control scheme is one of the first things I would probably do if I made a finished version of this. Glad to hear you liked the presentation, thanks for giving it a try!
Not a downside of imitating asteroids i meant. You can accelerate to infinity, which probably shouldnt be the case. But the overall direction was right :)
I like the idea, but could not figure out how to get the factory working even when I had minerals and time.
Aww, sorry! I got jumpscared by the deadline and couldn't add in any responsiveness to the factory end of it to let you know what the state of each machine is. And there's a hidden ammo cap of 10 that confused people too. Thanks much for giving it a try anyway!
Cool idea. I tried it 4 times and couldn't quite see the feedback loop between the left and right screens--either this isn't fully implemented or it went over my head.
The left-hand side controls exactly the way I remember the original Asteroids, very impressive job.
The music is cool and atmospheric.
The feedback loop should be working! The right screen runs once you collect "time shards" on the left screen, they drop from the asteroids or enemies if you manage to kill them.
