Gem Miner 2, Candy Crush as a roguelite.

Gem Miner 2 is a game I’ve been working on for a while, being the sequel to Gem Miner.

Gem Miner 2 is based on match-3 games like Candy Crush, although its slightly different since you place the gems on the board instead of swapping them. The game also plays forever, until you are encompassed by the bricks. The game is created using the Godot game engine.

The game has 3 distinct gamemodes (and a 4th one in development), called “Survival”, “Time Rush” and “Obstacles”. Survival is the most basic mode. You just place gems on the board and try to destroy all the bricks appearing before they destroy you. Time Rush mode has the bricks appearing based on a timer, so you have to go quickly before you get crushed. And Obstacle mode only gives you a limited amount of moves to destroy all the bricks, with more moves being added when you destroy them all.

You have 5 types of tools you can use to help you destroy the bricks. In Obstacles you start with no tools and get 1 more tool each level, but in the other modes your tools are reset to 1 of each at the start of each level.

So overall I think Gem Miner 2 is a fun and engaging game which people will enjoy playing (at least, that’s my hope :] )

Yo!

I spent some minutes playing Survival mode, and it's a really fun and chill game.

Some of the art looks a bit inconsistent, but since you're still developing it, we can expect a change on them.

Good luck on your project :D

I appreciate the kind comments <3 I am aware the art is inconsistent, I’m working on that :) I’m not a good artist so there’s a clear distinction between what I’ve drawn and what other people have drawn.
