Game Description
It is a game about a wizard stuck fighting zombies who look to be returning from a party. Canonically the wizard cannot exit the room ever, but the zombies can.

How does your game tie into the theme?
The game ties into the theme such that the spawn rate of the zombies varies randomly and is changed when the player makes contact with the hidden tiles placed all over the room.

The fireball is oddly satisfying, do you plan on adding more to it? It’s pretty fun!

Developer

Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed my game! I am thinking of adding a few things like the comment by Yannz said some drops would make it more fun. If you have any ideas you would like to see me implement do let me know! :)

really great work, i like the game, especially the fireball, it feels so great, good job. I hope you will stay on Godot, you can use it for everything : Godot

supports both 2D and 3D games and the Godot community is active and very helpful, you will love them <3

Thank you very much! I plan to stick to godot too, it feels really great to use.

Very cool, it is super satisfying to plow down a big wave of partygoers with one fireball. The spritework was great! Great first jam submission.

Thank you very much! Glad you liked the spritework, it's my first time making sprites!

Good job !

I enjoyed the theme and kept killing them for about 7/10 min.

I don't know if you intended it but when you shoot backwards you actually get propelled with the fireball which is actually pretty cool, if it's a bug, the best bug possible ;)

Some little things that would have make it better :

-To have enemies changing patterns (coming from behind or walking back)

-To add a UI curve around the wand that can indicate the angle of the attack (sometimes you're not sure if the character will attack where you click)

-I had the impression it needed some drop of some kind, maybe weapons, health or coins.

Overall I had fun, keep the good work !

Developer

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback and yup, the fireball propulsion thing is a bug. As for the enemies the linear wave pattern is a remnant of a previous idea that I pivoted away from and just simply ran out of time to add anything more complicated same with the drops. Yeah the aim is something I was not really able to figure out, it ends up going a bit lower than the click position of the mouse. I am glad to know you enjoyed playing my game!

Congrats on your first Godot game! I noticed that the player character moved suspiciously fast, did you forget to multiply by delta or is that intended?

Developer(+1)

That is intended so the player can escape in case they see a big group of zombies very close to the player character. I just really liked the idea of the movement feeling a bit erratic to convey the sense of panic the wizard must have felt when seeing all these zombies approaching him in his secure spell practice room.

Had a great time mowing down all the zombies.

It's fun that the zombies are returning from a party. The game is easily to understand play, which is a big win in a game jam. The aim was a little off for me, but not randomly, rather the fireball came a little below from where I was aiming. No biggie, though. Congratulations on your game!
