Unforgiving: A Northern Hymn is a horror demo that everyone should play if you're at all a fan of the horror genre!
While the demo doesn't allow you to interact fully with your environment, the game offers plenty of promise. The graphics and environment look GORGEOUS and is one of the prettier indie games to come out in a while. The characters and monsters that are featured in the game are really intriguing and offer lots of backstory for the developers to play with since they are based on Swedish mythology. The controls handled well and the soundtrack was arguably one of the best things about the game, retching up the intensity immensely.
I will say that the lack of a story for your character is a bit of a negative and the match lighting system needs a bit of work since it takes a bit too long to get a light going. But these "negatives" are VERY minor and can be easily fleshed out for the full game.
Seriously, if you're a fan of indie horror games, this demo is a must play and I am really looking forward to playing the full game once it is released.
I made a Let's Play of Unforgiving: A Northern Hymn, so feel free to check it out and let me know what you think!
