How does your game fit the theme?
You need to fix the loop of the engine that powers the dungeon to open the door. Do this by collecting shards on your way. You also can fix minor engines to activate a checkpoint

Interesting idea with the flying mechanic! The fork-jump concept is fun, though the controls could feel a bit smoother for a more precise platforming experience.

Some areas felt a bit challenging due to that control responsiveness, but show potential, especially with more polish. It was also quite difficult to progress the further I want. Maybe the difficulty needed for me a little bit downgrade, but could also be my lack of skills :-)

Graphics are ok and the audio background track had a nice vibe.

Keep it going! 🚀

Thanks!

I do not like popups but gave you all 3 stars like the others.

I like the fork jump idea but to me it felt a bit inconsistent sometimes i could jump super high or far and the other time i barely moved. Probably has to do  with the angle and your own speed but i could not figure it out . The moving felt a bit clunky as well to me.

But overall i think its  a good attempt  for a gamejam and some tweaking here and there could make this a much more enjoyable game keep it up.

thanks for your feedback!

I loke the fork jump. Great idea

this are just shovel knight's assets, the game is a pain to play and the theme is not respected at all. try and learn from your mistake to come up with a more original concept, with clearer ideas and a bigger understanding of game development.

you will never grow as a developer if you don't take criticism. i took a lot, and will proudly continue to do so. consider every comment, critique, and even insults as valuable and extremely precious therefore writing a comment after a rating is the most respectfull thing a developer can do, to help their fellow jammers, learn from their mistake.

I expect you to do the same to my game, and to many others, this is true respect

The mechanics feel a bit unpolished and lack depth. The physics don’t help make the game enjoyable either.

Graphically, it’s not appealing, and the music is just okay.

The attempt to innovate is appreciated, but the idea isn’t solid enough. I think you're on the right path, but you need to improve overall.

The resemblance to the theme doesn’t fit.

Nice concept. I think Spring Knight would be more accurate name hehe.

The control is really difficult with no aim line and so unpredictable for a precision platformer. I got stuck at the part where there are keys line up vertically. Maybe I'm closed to finish line but I quit when I realized I spent 20 minutes. Also the ground can be too low, it makes it more difficult to aim the jump to bottom.

some of my inspiration lay with rage games, but thanks for your feedback, glad hou liked it!

Game is very polished and addicting. I could see this game being a popular speedrun game. Solid game!

I do not think this game fits the breaking the loop theme. It is an interesting concept, while playing it sometimes seemed as if the flying power was not consistent. Due to the game mechanics, the bottom floor of the level is too low. In order to propel myself up, I have the bury the mouse into the bottom of the monitor with little margin for error. I did not complete the game, after doing the tutorial and a 1100 second run. I managed to get a dozen or so checkpoints, making it well into the laser section, with no end in sight. As the level progresses, the obstacles only become more annoying. The more I die, the more I feel the game is cheating me rather than a mistakes on my part.

I got some inspiration in the rage game genre.. That's why the controller is so unpredicatble It's also a choice to make; use your spell and have chances of failure or use your normal jump who can't jump that high.

The game feels very blurry, while the UI is extremely sharp - these two styles don’t fit well together. In the tutorial, it says to use the left mouse button to fly, but it would be helpful to also explain that flying happens because of the recoil from shooting the fork. This mechanic is tricky to handle, but I do like the concept!

I noticed some issues with the tileset, especially around the corners, probably due to time constraints. Reaching the second checkpoint was already quite difficult, and by the third, I started feeling frustrated because the mechanic feels a bit off. Thus, I did not want to keep playing. Have in mind that what feels manageable to you as the developer might be too hard for players. The game has a lot of potential, though! However, I didn’t quite see how it fits the 'breaking the loop' theme.

I know it's blurry. Do you used Edge or Brave. Because they do not like my pixelart I guess. I got some inspiration with the rage game genre so that's great. You're trying to fix the loop to escape the dungeon a great spin on the theme!

So I'm just going to rate every category with some comments to it.

Gameplay: It was a bit hard at first to really get a feeling of how strong the fork is. Maybe holding down the mouse button can increase the strength of the push. The shards were placed in good positions, even if they can be tricky sometimes (this obviously has to be that way).

Art: I think the game's art is a bit broken in the web build. All graphics are blurry. I've tested it in 2 different browsers, but it was blurry every time. From the screenshots I can see, the Windows build probably works. Anyway, the art style is cute, and there is a good atmosphere.

Sound: Basic sound design was implemented, although some more sound effects could have been better. The music fits pretty well into the atmosphere!

Innovation: Same as gameplay, lol

Theme: The theme was there, but only as a "goal" to escape the dungeon.

Still a solid game and great work! :)

That's very nice to hear. I know it's hard but that's kind of the point, I had some inspiration in the rage game genre. It is a little bit wierd that the art is broken. Can you maybe show a screenshot . I tried my game in Firefox but had no problem . Thanks for playing. PS: did you get to the end or was it to hard?

I sadly didn't get to the end, but I can share a screenshot :) It's happening in both Brave and Edge.
