What inspired your game?
We were inspired by the Sun and Moon as opposites, and thought it would be cute to mend a relationship between them. That being a main source of opposites attracting, along with the coming eclipse and the mesh of 2D/3D art, came as a natural result.

How did you incorporate the 'girly' theme into your game?
We put the girly aesthetic into everything about the game—from the main character to the environment, and the music as well. The game is about love and coming to an understanding even when others have hurt you.

Changing between day and night was a very cool concept! Also a very fun storyline to follow along.

I did find the contrast between the 2D sprites and the 3D map a bit visually clashing at times, and the movement could be a bit more polished, but what was there was beautifully done for the time limit and congrats on a short but full experience :)

Very chill and charming playthrough overall!

It was a very cute story, and we enjoyed playing the role. The writing on the poems was really fun to read! I also liked how the story tied into the gameplay, and I thought the map was pretty interesting to explore. One thing we found difficult was the sameness between most of the rooms, we found some things difficult to find + got lost at times BUT we completely understand the time crunch that comes with a short game jam.

Awesome submission!

The mechanic of switching between two versions of the same map was really creative and ties into the theme really well! It was really fun exploring the rooms while trying to spot the difference and find where all the different items go! I liked that the game tracks how many times you swapped and used the stairs. I played through the game twice and once you know where the items are, it gets really satisfying trying to find the optimal route to do it quickly. This would be a really cool idea to expand upon and maybe add some kind of scoring system for replayability! Overall, nice job!

The swapping mechanic is so cool! Discovering new objects on otherwise unconspicious rooms was really cool, I also liked the theme - modest but I liked the motif!

The combination of a 3D and 2D was very nice. The story was sweet and the dialogue was literal poetry🔥! Also the stats at the end that show the swaps and stairs used was a nice touch. Good work!

I loved the 3D background choice, and the switch from night/day felt smooth and rewarding when I figured out how to get into certain areas.

Really liked the dialogue as well!

Loved how aesthetically polished it was. The muffled audio of the night and the sound effect of the switch was so good! It was fun honestly to just walk around, vibe to the music, and switch between day and night, which I liked that you were forced into doing with the doors.

wow is that a 3d background? I like the change of day and night concept and the music definitely helps with the vibe as well! great work!!

Developer

yes! the level and the objects are all 3D models! glad you liked it!

The mechanics are really smooth and the music gives a lot to the game's atmosphere.
Well done ✨

Aw, thank you! hermit definitely did a great job with the music! :D

Cute story! And it plays to the theme pretty well. Doesn't get much more opposite than that. Night and day is literally an idiom for describing opposites. Nicely done art. I like the contrast between the two modes, and I love that the music become a sorta lo-fi version of itself with the transition to night.

Developer

Ah, thank you for your compliments! Loved your entry so much as well!

What an awesome submission. The premise of the game already brings "wow" factor, and there are so many small details you folks took care of too -- not allowed to switch when I'm in a doorway or would otherwise be stuck inside of objects, the alternating music, the ornate poem at the start... this is one polished game jam submission. Huge kudos to your team!

Very interesting mechanics that work very well with the visuals and atmosphere! (I love the rendering of the rays of sunlight btw)

Developer

Thank you! DatYak did an incredible job with the particles and sunbeams.

I'll have to try out your game in turn :)

A really fun and innovative take on your jam! Kudos to whoever wrote the dialogue! The poetry is very romantic and super in line with the story. The sun rays are so pretty and the starlight when swapping to night is a beautiful touch, not to mention the change in the audio every time you swap. Very nice job!!
