Cool game! I found some bugs, but i think it could be made into a full game! Good Luck for your next projects ! : )
Thanks for your feedback! What bugs did you find?
When you opened the spell editing menu and then casted a spell with the menu open, your spell would appear above the menu, preventing you from clicking on the menu
Absolutely astonishing how full this game is!
Love the UI and 2 frame animations, everything looked and felt great!
Excellent work, and great jamming with you 🥳
The insane amount of content blown my mind! The Noita like spell building is neatly done, had a lot of fun incredible job!
This game had tons of different builds and interesting interactions, it was so fun!
also long live the acid ball and healing flame! (is healing op?)
Healing is definitely OP right now, hard difficulty is winning without using the healing spell. I'm glad that acid ball worked out for you, I always die to my own acid when I try.
Note to reviewers: v1.03/4 were done outside of the timeframe, and include one extra sound effect and improved support for keyboard and gamepad users. The original game was meant for keyboard + mouse, and I wanted to make sure that people can play with only keyboard or only mouse. Also the cat needed a sound when pet.
The engine I used was a heavily-modified version of my 2023 entry about a firefighting wizard. Thanks for your feedback and for playing!
Off-the-charts levels polish and scope in here. Incredible work. Beautiful little levels and sprites. And an innovative little spell system to top it all off! So impressed.
Just absolutely wow the spells are so fun to build and find out what they do and the system is so intuitive
Thanks, that is good feedback. I redesigned the spell system several times to make it easier, at least for the jam, and it's good to know the effort paid off.
I really like programming spells :)
This is absolutely incredible! Really polished and with so much detail. The spell system was a ton of fun and I would love to see it expanded on.
Thanks! I'm loving your game, even if the difficulty is, uh, herculean. I'm trying to take down one hydra before I submit a review, wish me luck.
I love making the spells, and I can take a lot of inspiration from Rift Wizard, so I am hoping to expand the spellbook.
Haha yeah I made it too difficult for sure.
I need to check out rift wizard apparently then!
I am in awe of you guys for this entry... As I sit here and craft away at new spell combos I just think how tf did you make this in the time frame? You guys are actual wizards and should be so proud! I don't even know what to fault you for so you're getting a perfect score from me. I love the complex spellcrafting and the feeling of pulling off a clutch op spell combo, the vibey music, punchy sound effects, and the invincible cat ofc. I will now get back to becoming the best wizard that ever was... amazing work!
I added the cat last minute late, late in the morning, because all games should have cats you can pet.
Dev [Music composer] note: Compared to my various previous jams, even with our time difference of 5h, we managed to finish it almost polished, dare I say ;)
There are features and gamepad/touch support planned for future.
We had trouble implementing audio in-game which is reworked and should be fixed now before jam submission. That said the music narrative (order, dynamic immersion) is expected to be fixed post submission. The full soundtrack (15 “layers”) is there though, and with headphones, I hope you’ll enjoy as much as we did.
Music SW used: FL Studio (all plugins ed.) (built-in instruments/fx-chain only)
