Game lag and display issues

Greetings,

Really love the game. Really. Something about the futuristic feel to it, and object placement for optimization intrigues me.

That said, noticing 2 blatant issues that are hampering gaming.

1.The lag

As the game progresses, it becomes slower and more tedious to place buildings, especially around the farming squares. It really takes away from the experience because I spend more time waiting in lag than actually playing the game. Yes I've tried to reduce resolution and graphic settings. Currently using a Dell XPS 9550, 950 Nvidia GTX. It's a pretty great ultrabook. Just struggles with this game. Please look into it, I sincerely wish I could build my population to 1000+ without the lag.

2. The display issue

For some reason, the game will not display correctly in fullscreen mode. For instance, when I launch it the windows bar stays on the screen, causing the entire game screen to shift ( http://imgur.com/a/LBls1 ) . If I switch it to fullscreen mode, then the mouse pointer does not highlight the area it is over. Also, it bugs out hard when I try fullscreen mode.

Thank you for the great game! Love it enough to give feedback so it can get better :) Looking forward to a solution.

Developer

Heya!

1. We'll be seeing what we can do to improve performance, but it sounds like your PC is close to min spec or below it. It's not really designed to run on ultrabooks.

2. Thanks for the heads-up; we'll take a look.

I don't have the display issues but I do get the lag issues. When I start to really expand and get up there in population I start to have issues as well.

I have a laptop with a i5-6300HQ with 8 gigs of ram and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M.

I started to see it at around 550 to 600 in population.

i have also had performance issue at close to the 1000 population mark, also on a mobile platform but my spec is i7-6700HQ 16 gb ram Nvidia geforce 950m, its an msi apache pro gaming laptop, and most stuff I chuck at it has no issues, by the loks of it it could be due to the 950m as the comment above seem to be using a similar graphics card. Have no issues with full screen etc.

Well I did notice that as the game goes on the amount of ram used increases. It start about at around 50% usage but when I get to the 500 to 600 and I am almost at 80% usage. I am chalking that up to it being beta and not fully optimized.

Thank you guys for your input! :) Looks like ram is a key factor here. I'm sure when it is optimized it will be better. Yes, doesn't make sense for this game to have such high requirements.

Have a great day

After a couple more games and with task manager running the more buildings that get placed the more ram gets used until ram was between 95-98% meaning pretty much everything came to a halt, I lost at that point because all my colonist died, quit the game and ram usage went down to 85% whilst the processes shut down, but took a while, so tried killing other processes and accidentally killed a critical process and had to reboot. Hopefully in a not to distant update this can be addressed. Like the game just am not very good at it at the moment, finding it hard to complete first mission after the training missions, but after a bit more practice i'll figure out how to get an effiecent working colony.
