I like the theme of surprise incorporated for this game.  Scaring people through the set pieces you place is a good mechanic that is straightforward and simple.

There was not much to do in the beginning but there is a progression when time passes.  

I would have liked more set pieces to place but for this jam the foundation is solid and has potential to expanded on!

This is really fun, good job!

I had a fun and spoopy time playing! Especially as the timer clicks down and you have tons and tons of spooks you have to trigger around the map. Frantically clicking your spooks as fast as you can while more guests wander into the haunted house got my heart pumping. I'm interested to try out different positions for the spooks as I play through more times!

Visual

Visually, the game is consistent, pleasing and fits perfectly its theme. Only the main menu feel a bit off.

Audio

The BGM is perfect for the game, and the SFX is as good, it feels spooky!

Tutorials

Great effort for the tutorial, but maybe too much text, I forced myself to read because I wanted to enjoy the game, and it was worth it :)

Gameplay

  • The mood bubbles help the player a lot, and that's really cool. Although it misses a brief explanation in the tutorial about what they mean. Took me half the time to understand them. But it's okay I guess.
  • The game has a real progression during the 6 minutes, you don't do much at the beginning and do more and more throughout the run.
  • I would've loved to see more possibilities than only 3 scary elements, but for the timing of the jam, it's perfect!
  • The time limit is great, but it would be nice to close the entry at the end of the 6 minutes and let the people inside leave the house. BECAUSE I WANT MORE MONEY >:]

Fun

I had so much fun playing the game and seeing these little guys and girls wanting to be scared.

Bugs

I had some mirrors that were unclickable, I felt really sad (and my visitors too, I LOST MONEY). So you owe me money for that, now c:

There is also a bug with the credits menu, the BGM runs once again when you close it, but the previous one didn't stop. So you may encounter a moment with 10 BGM playing at the same time (trust me, it doesn't sound good).

Theme

I think the theme is in the fact that you have to surprise people to scare them, so it's a yes for me :)

Really fun game! The time limit is a great touch cos it encourages you to play it through and see how many people you can scare/money you can get before it ends

Concept is great, everything works beautifully- the little animations and mood indicators give this a really nice polish. Very impressive for the time. For some reason when I started I had two versions of the music playing, possibly because I opened the credits and the music restarted on changing menus, so I had to mute the game as it was driving me a little doodaa. I loved it, but my dream requests would be: some kind of indicator that the spook item is ready to use again, like how it's green before you use it the first time, and for only having the three items I would make it a little shorter. Scaring the people is really satisfying, but 5 minutes felt slightly too long for the repetitive nature for me. I keep saying this today, but if you ever decided to keep working on this or making more in this style I would be super interested!
