I've read several Wretched and Alone games, but this is the first I actually played. I went through all but one of the cards in my deck, wondering all the time how long my curator could put up with the strain of the artifact's psychological effects. Just long enough to give up and let the monster loose on the world it turns out (oops). The block tower is a great tool-I loved feeling the tension of a shaky pull and converting that into the narrative tension of narrowly holding onto sanity. The prompts were evocative and made it easy for me to build a horror story with some aesthetic touchstones based on my artifact. I was glad the rules specifically encouraged an audio log-I may have gone with a journal on my own, but I found in recording from sparse written notes I came up with some great ideas that I might have missed out on if not spurred on by the sound of my own voice. I'll definitely recommend this game to others!
