Okay. The fact that the player character is controlled with WASD, using your left hand, and occupies the right side of the screen, while the AI character is controlled with the mouse, using your right hand, and occupies the left side of the screen takes the difficulty of this game up to 11. It's like the first time you tried rubbing your stomach and patting your head at the same time as a child. The simple switch of the AI doing combat and the player collecting coins would have made this much, much easier to get into. I don't hate the idea of forcing you to learn weird, difficult controls, but it felt out of place for an otherwise pretty straightforward little shmup kind of game.

Overall, really good work, but dang, this messed with my brain more than I expected it to. Lol.

Thanks for playing and for your comment. I do agree this game is too difficult. Obviously while developing it and testing it I eventually got the hang of the general mechanic, but fell into the trap of thinking that a new player wouldn't be put off by it :( If I were to make it again I think I'd have the drone be fully AI so the player could concentrate on blasting stuff :) Thanks again.

Nice game for a game jam

Thanks!

Really liked the graphics. I think there are some issues with the collisions, kept getting killed without touching an enemy

Developer

Thanks for playing. I think maybe the drone getting hit was killing you? The drone has more lives than the player, but can still take damage.

I see, that could be

I wish the Ai was more independent from player input. First autoscroller I've seen in this jam.

Developer

I did have 3 settings for the AI planned. The first one follow the mouse, first upgrade folow the player, second upgrade snap to collecting the loot (like the AI was learning) but...time :( thanks for playing

This is pretty fun, although it's kinda frustrating to lose your progress.

Developer

Yeah I understand that. Thanks for the comment. I ran out of time for so many things, but next thing on my list was to save before the boss fight :(
