Really interesting concept and unique mechanics!

The concept of highly customizable programmable turrets in a kinda tower defense is really interesting! It creates a really engaging form of micromanagement that helps prevent the player from reaching a state where they can just sit back and watch. I think the concept could be expanded with more flexible programming and more actions for them to perform, though maybe it could be better served with a more traditional top-down all-encompassing view of the level, I felt that the platforming aspects of the game got in the way of the really interesting parts of the game.

This is a really interesting concept! It took me a while to realize you had to program the turrets, but after that (and especially once I started using the turn up/down commands) I really liked the concept. I will definitely say the lack of polish is really hard on a game like this, and also personally I think the idea may be more suited to a top-down perspective, so consider trying that out if you want to build on the game more. Overall, love the idea and programming turrets behavior is a super interesting twist on the tower defense genre. With more content and polish this could easily turn into a fantastic full game, I truly think this has heaps of potential! Great job!

loved the art and concept but was unable to refill the towers (am i supposed to press something other than e?) anyways cool stuff. what engine did you use?

Wow, this was really cool! The coding was very intuitive after I figured out how to open the interface. I didn't realize that I needed to reload the turrets at first, but once I did it was very satisfying.

I didn't really get the feeling that I was collaborating with AI, but maybe it was more like creating AI?

Really fun! 5/5

Took me a minute to figure out what was going on but then once I understood the controls and how to program the turrets, it became pretty fun!

this is really cool! I like your interpretation of the theme, would be nice if the jump was less floaty though! (but my friend really enjoyed the floaty jump they said it was like their dreams???)

Cool idea, a bit rough and ready but that's what jam's are for! Well done :D

The concept is really good, and I can definetively see it as a full-size game.

It definetively needs some polish though. I would like to see the ability to make the turrets shoot on sight to spare ammo (I never had enough ammo to build more than the two starting turrets). Also, I can block enemies with my character, which doesn't feel right.

I like the concept of coding the turrets yourself, but to me it didn't make sense for them to turn and shoot the other way. It would have made more sense if you could only have one turret in the middle, and then you had to code it that it would shoot a bit, turn and shoot the more. But since you could have two turrets just shooting either side of the arena, it made it very easy just to have them shoot at one direction only

Game was Good, The jump height was excessive and I only found out about the code menu after spamming random buttons. Other than that, it was good

Pretty good, jump feels a bit useless tho

Developer(+1)

Haha yes it only exists to get over the safe. When I first started on this project, the player was tall enough to get hit by the other towers which made jumping kinda useful to dodge bullets, but I shortened the player to make him a dwarf.

It's a good game! I was stuck a bit because I didn't knew I have to right click on the turrets to program them.

Developer

Yeah somehow including information about how to open up the coding UI didn't occur to me when writing the tutorial 🤣

Nice submission, i think the jump is way to high though - and maybe you shouldnt be able to bodyblock the enemies, feels a bit cheaty hah

Developer

I'm not sure why the jumping is so high, on my machine it's just tall enough to clear the stairs, and on a friends machine the jump was way too high. Anyways thanks so much for the feedback!
