A charming little game with a lovely aesthetic that is a refreshingly-unique take on the theme, and stands out very well from other entries in this jam. Well done! :)

Ayy, beat this one. Loved the animations especially. The simple bouncing around was actually very pleasing and a great way to make animations easily. The blood particles when you "win" are also very satisfying.

I did run into a few bugs. I'm sure you're aware of most of them, but gonna list them out anyway:

- The fire sorcerer says you need to be level 5 to fight the dragon, but you can actually do it at level 3

- The enemies always do an action after you do which can lead to situations where you "win" even though both of you die and also you can "win" if the enemy heals you after you die.

- The run button doesn't seem to do anything about 90% of the time, but if you spam the button, you'll eventually leave combat

- During the animation where you're waiting to fight the dragon, you can buy upgrades which will put your level below level 3, but you'll still be able to fight him.

- After finishing the dragon fight, the dragon fight music and the overworld music will overlap.

Things that weren't bugs but were just weird:

- Sleep is completely unnecessary. Just attacking mindlessly will win every battle.

- Why are we trying to kill ourselves? Seems like the game would be the exact same if you damaged the enemy instead of yourself.

- What do the numbers on the xp bar mean? Early on I was able to get the numbers to go negative, but I imagine that's a bug of some kind? I imagine the left number is a leftover from when the upgrades didn't cost levels, but rather xp?

- There's no collision on world bounds, you can kinda just walk off screen.

- The trigger area for initiating conversation is very small and precise

- If you're > level 3 and you upgrade, the fire sorcerer isn't guarding the door, but you're not allowed to fight the dragon.

- Sometimes the enemy will miss (I think only frogs do this?), but the player never misses

- There is on collision on the trees

Overall, and very relaxing and pleasant experience. Difficulty needs tweaking and I think the killing yourself mechanic doesn't bring much to the game, but love the art style and would like to see it improved upon after the jam. Thanks for making it!

Thank you for the feedback! And yeah! I didnt simply have time to fix everything (i overscoped a bit) and that was a bad idea! The game has looots of bugs, and i will try to fix them when rating period is over! Thanks!

✔️ The effects from the battle animations to the music were overall very nicely made and integrated and really added a lot.

✔️ The art was also quite good. I especially liked the character walk animation.

➖ The battling system was a bit easy; I could just spam the attack button and win.

thank you for the feedback! I agree, i would’ve liked to do a lot more with the combat system but 3 days just isn’t enough time!

At first, I thought the idea of an RPG where you kill yourself was kind of dumb. Then I levelled up, and realised that it got harder to grind as I got more HP. That was neat.

Given how unintuitive trying to kill yourself is, I think you should add a delay between your action and the enemy's. Because they happen simultaneously, it looks like you're hitting them, and it takes a while to notice that you're damaging yourself.

I liked the art style. Kind of reminds me of Realm of the Mad God.

thank you for the constructive critisism! I really apreciate it!

Nice art style 😊 and consistent in the whole game.

Liked the walk animations and the animations in general!

Did take me some time to find the enemies to fight because I had to walk under the level bar in the browser.. So as a little hint maybe that can be more clear next time. And it took some time to get to the level...

But still fun little game. Keep up this good work.

thank you so much for the feedback! I had a lot of issues with the ui of the browser version especially because i couldn’t test it myself!

A game with a lot of potetntial, the battle it's simple and easy to understand the animations are well done, just need some polish

A lot of things really stood out in this game. The animations and transitions were great. All of the art was consistently excellent and the music was also really nice. I feel like this game shows that you're very talented and have a lot of different skills but I just don't think that the gameplay was very engaging. I really wanted to get to the dragon fight so I ended up playing this for a really long time but it would have been nice if I didn't have to spend all of that time just clicking the attack button and hoping the enemy was weaker than me. I think you've made a really great looking game that does a lot right but the idea just needed a little more work.

Thank you for this reply, and i really can see your point! If i would have had more time i think this would've turned out really great! Thanks a lot for the feedback!
