Nice ideas here, love the slingshotting. Feels kind of overwhelming without any tutorial though. Nice work anyways!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That slingshot took us the entire first day of the jam, so I'm glad you liked it! 😂 The tutorial issue is a common complaint; I just wish we'd had time to put one in!

Submitted(+2)

Pretty hard to understand tbh the game could be better if there are tutorials of some sort, music is kinda short but I like the juice and idea, I think u can flesh this out a bit more ;)

Developer(+1)

A tutorial is the main thing we are lacking, but since we only had 72 hours we could only do so much. :/ Thank you for the suggestion though!

Submitted(+2)

I think the concept of the game is really good, I suggest implementing an ingame tutorial maybe? it would have done a lot better if there was an ingame tutorial of some sorts to kinda introduce the player each bug components :) The game itself is really nice, quite a lot of management! So well done on that :) Good work!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, a good tutorial was the main thing we wanted to implement but didn't have time for. Thanks for playing, though!

Submitted(+2)

Pretty hard to understand even with the description. Overall, if you work on making it more clear I guess it might become an easy mobile game. Interesting mechanic. Well done

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! We added the "help" section pretty last minute to be a "tutorial", but I can see how a real one would help. A mobile game isn't a bad idea...

Submitted(+2)

Pretty fun, but challenging game.I liked how interpreted the topic in both ways. Good job!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked how we interpreted the topic of the game :) It did take a while to come up with a decent idea 😂

Submitted(+1)

Know the feeling. Took me 1 prototype ?(which took an 1h and a half to make) and an extra 4hs to come up with this: https://literally3d.itch.io/taking-the-w.

Submitted(+2)

Nice little concept here! Very original! I died so fast!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you liked it! Sorry, it's not the easiest game. Even I haven't gotten more than two computers in one run!

Submitted(+2)

This was a cool and simple game. I really liked the music and simple art style. Had a fun time playing this one 😄

Also just something I noticed - Instead of slingshoting the bugs, I was able to just drag them to the turrets, the wall, or the components.

Developer(+1)

And we thought we fixed all the bugs... 😅 Glad you still had fun with the game though! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Hey! Just played the game! It took me a minute to undersand the mechanics but very good! I died very fast xD The only thing is that the bug menu is over the bugs so it's hard to move them. And I need to fullscreen the game because the full window wasn't renderized in the browser, so maybe you can change it from the game edition screen :P Great game!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! The bug screen can be brought back down with the "B" button, but in hindsight we didn't make that very clear... I'll go mess with the screen size now though. Thank you for the tip!

visuals a great. Concept is solid. All the text is a little bit of a pain in the butt to go through. But a solid game. 4/5. Bookmarked for later play sessions.

Developer

Thanks a ton! I understand the text thing (we kinda sorta forgot to add a tutorial until the very end) but I'm really glad you want to play multiple times!

Submitted(+2)

It was a very cool concept , i really liked the game .

Developer

Thanks! I'm so glad you had fun! :)

Submitted(+2)

Cool idea!

But the wall of text you have to get through to be able to understand what's going on is kind of frustrating. Also I managed to accidentally glitch my bugs inside of the shield barrier without destroying it.

Maybe you should add a health bar to the shield and the computers, it's hard to know if you're even doing damage because everything makes the same sound. Maybe also add some effect when a bug dies so it doesn't just disappear, and show on screen how many bugs you have used.

But it's a cool concept!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the review! You have made some really good points that we will take into action if we decide to update the game. Much appreciated :)

Submitted(+2)

Instructions are lacking at the start of the game. Weird but fun controls for the virus hahah. and i like the glitchy aesthetic of the game!! Keep it up!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it! I just updated the game with a tutorial so hopefully controls will make more sense now!

Submitted(+1)

Could you pls try my game too?? It's called book of bugs! <3 tia

I really like the approach to the subject of jam. Simple but very well executed. I would like more levels.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We actually didn't have levels and went for a randomized approach instead. We wanted to do something outside of our comfort zones (read: not a platformer)

Submitted(+3)

There should be a tutorial somewhere in the game if you need to do uncommon actions. Had problesm to find out how to play. I guessyou had too little time to add everything. Keep on improving yourself!

Developer(+1)

Yes, we definitely did. :/ I hope you still enjoyed the game once you figured it out!

Submitted(+2)

Soooo I'm the bug now hä ;-)

Developer(+1)

Yep! We were hoping our idea was a little unique. Glad you liked the game!

Submitted(+2)

It's an interesting idea to play as a virus, I liked that!

But it was really hard to figure out that I'm damaging the blue antivirus wall. It would be great if there was a better visualization.
Also If you spawned 5 Viruses and don't have the one you need, you can do nothing but lose if I'm not mistaken. Thats not ideal.

Developer

Yeah, I understand how that could be an issue. The hope was that people spawn one or two at a time as needed, but I don't think my tutorial was clear enough. :/ As for the blue wall, that was in the plans but we weren't able to give it any visualization due to the time constraints. Thanks so much for playing!

Submitted(+2)

I see, I came into the situation bc the antivirus things destroyed one. So I still had 3 alive but not the one I needed and couldn't respawn or sacrifice on of the others.

Yea that's understandable, with gamejams you almost always have to leave something out you had planned.

Submitted(+2)

Couldnn't figure out how to play it unfortunately, I know I'm probably just stupid but a help page would be, well, helpful! haha, sounds and looks cool tho :D

Developer

I'm so sorry! If you're willing to give it another chance we have the tutorial in the description. Sadly we just didn't have enough time to put a good one in the game. :/

Submitted(+2)

Pretty good, I liked the music and sound effects

Developer(+2)

Much appreciated,, I'm glad you liked the SFX and music!

Submitted(+2)

This game was really cool! I really liked the glitch effects when you destroy computers

Developer(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the glitch effect! :)

Submitted(+2)

Hi, the only thing i wanted was to have more levels, because the game was really fun and simple. well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the review! The original aim was to have levels but we later thought of scrapping it due to time and playability ect. Hopfully the randomisers will make up for it :)
