Well done!

Make this into a bigger game,  sell it, you have at least 1 buyer and that's me.

Developer(+1)

:D Glad you enjoyed it. In case I do it I'm happy to have you as a customer. ;)

I love looping the same level, but with twists. Visuals are lit, the mystery is quite interesting and it's good you didn't try to add any plot. Maybe a little in the future. You can add jelly-like idle/moving animation. Narrator character is great!

One of my favourite Wowie jam games so far!

Developer

Thanks alot Pawel! :)

For the short span of the game jam you put together a fantastic game.
It is really polished.  Controls feel responsive, scene transitions are great and the visuals as well as the music suit the game well.

If there was one thing I could nit pick about is that the pacing feels a bit slow. The level feel pretty similar to a point, but the introduction of a new mechanic was really great and changed the flow.

Can you give some inside how you archived the graphic effects ?

Developer(+1)

Thank you Believing-Gamedev! I'm happy you enjoyed it! :)

I hoped to introduce one new mechanic/new type of obstacle per level to keep it fresh but I ended up only getting a new one in every 1-2 levels sadly. And I think a bit more time on the level design would have helped too.

the Glitch artworks, are multiple frames I created in Clip Studio Paint. In game they then just cycle through them. Each Glitched object has like 3-8 frames, with the animations running at around 5-10 fps. Or did you mean something specific?

I was just curious how you did it in general.
Thanks for the explanation.

Amazing visuals and genius gameplay design. I really like these types of buggy games where everything appears alright at first and then slowly gets worse and worse. Simple but smooth platforming and smart platform placements. Very nice!

Developer

thanks alot Westonini!

Well, this is one of the best games that I had played in the jam. Congratulations! The idea is super simple and works absolutely fine. The controls and all is amazingly done. I love it so much! If have a time and can check mine I will be very grateful :) Cheers! Good luck! This is the best game so far!

Developer

Thanks Noar!

Yes I will check your game. :)

This is easily the best game I've rated yet, great idea and execution.

Amazing! You need to win. Perfect feel, great controls, super creative, all around 5 stars across the board from me. So much fun.

You nailed it. My wife actually begged me to try this one, and I don't regret it. Like Jonas said, unfortunately the dash/rocket jump thing breaks the levels. Would have been nice to have some glitchy ceiling barriers to prevent that.

Thanks alot and thanks to your wife, too! ;)

Good idea. I will implement something like that once the rating is over. :)

(glitcheon is pretty cool btw)

Way to take the theme and RUN with it. I definitely found myself thinking "That's definitely a square" - and then it all made sense ;)

Great idea with excellent execution. Feels quite polished and has absolutely great atmosphere. Noticed some really cool details like the level counter showing you the actual level you're in with its flickering. I also really like the generous checkpoint placement.

Once the dash jump comes in you can unfortunately just pretty much fly over the entire map with two or three jumps which almost feels like an unintended exploit. Made the end of the game a bit anticlimactic and easy for me. xD

Overall really good game. Very curious to see where this will land in the final rankings. ;)

Developer

Thanks alot Jonas.  I really appreciate your feedback! :)

I realized the checkpoint flaw shortly after I submitted, it would be an easy fix but I don't want to implement it when we are still in the rating phase.

Obviously I'm very curious too. ;)

Definitely a great game. The glitch effects are on point and this feels somewhat very clever. Specifically loved the missing colliders in the part of the platforms, making it all a much better experience in my opinion. The art is great as well. Keep up the good work.

Awesome graphics and feedback, very polished touch ! Maybe a bit too straightforward about the jam's topic if I have to criticize

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!
That's an interesting take, I hadn't even thought about that. But now that you say it I can see where you are coming from, it might be too on the nose.

Ohhh, I remember testing this game before the release, I had fun with it! Shame I got stuck on the 7th level for a couple of minutes :p

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback Arcy. :)
Did you feel like that level is too hard?

Submitted(+1)

I don't think so! It was pretty good difficulty wise :)
