Are you participating in the Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced category?

Intermediate

Please explain why your team qualifies for the category you chose.
I am a solo developer that has been studying game development off and on for a couple years now. I've never released a game or have done a game jam before, so I feel I am in the middle of Novice and Intermediate. Thanks!

How does your game relate to the theme?
The Player's Main Weapon shoots our Christmas Charms to defeat their enemies, the overall Theme of the Game is also set in jolly-good Christmas and Holidays which are heavily influenced by Charm! There is also a large Charm on the top of the Christmas tree in which the Player must defend.

There were ideas of implementing a Charm ability to swap the sides of enemies or a Charm pickup that grants bonuses but I ran out of time in development.

Specify any and all pre-made assets in your submission.

Anything else you would like us to know?
I had a lot of fun in this Gamejam! Thank you for hosting it, I know the code is not viewable in the Project but I'm glad to gain some experience in programming. If there are any offers for mentorship or ways of improving my skillset past game jams, please let me know and provide as much feedback as possible! Thanks again!

Fun game! I didnt like that you have to spam the mouse button to shoot. I think it would be better if you could just hold the mouse button to shoot. But cool game, I enjoyed it! :)

Developer

Thanks! I like that idea, if I continue with this prototype I'll definitely add an option for automatic-fire and holding down input and also for semi-automatic and have the same input, but maybe with a slight delay.

they deal barely any damage and often friendly fires

Developer

I did set the damage very low so the game is easier to play through, but that can be adjusted for sure! There is friendly fire, but in the future I'll have a toggle option for that. Right now the collider for the bullet projectile is dealing damage to any character. Thanks for the feedback!
