I didn't really finish, because the camera was making me sick, and it seems a bit buggy to be able to finish.  Just a few quick things:

  • I don't think the camera needs to wave while stepping
  • The camera controls are sensitive and quirky
  • The player object tends to strafe to the side, even while pointing straight forward
  • The camera will get clamped to a certain range, and I can't use it to turn around, or turn corners
  • Enemies push you around, instead of other expected behavior
  • Even after being spotted, the enemies continue with regular pathing movement, it seems
  • Can fall off the map instead of the expected mechanic of warping to the opposite side of the map
  • There's no real transition between touching a ghost and being restarted-- it was confusing  to know that was what was happening, at first
  • Pretty sure the trails ghosts leave behind had collision, but I could be wrong-- could have been the camera strafing bug
  • The WebGL version can lose the mouse and go out of focus

Thx for feedback. The weird input/camera issue is due to webgl, in editor it's very different. Ghosts move using the original pac man logic so no actual spotting is going on. I wanted to make the tunnels and energizers but ran out of time :/ it was created in one day mostly.

On the stream, I also just noticed the streaming things behind the ghost doesn't change to blue instead of the original colors.

Summed up: A 3D first-person pacman. Looks great so far! In particular the FPS aspect is interesting, especially as the walls make it so easy to look around.

  • 3D graphics look good and still leave the world easy to navigate.
  • Cool ghost models!

  • Pacman has foot step sounds...
  • Buggy - sometimes ghosts would just push me around, rather than losing
  • Unfinished - missing pacman mechanics like power ups and bonus points

I wonder how well this would work with grid movement? Maybe not so well.

This is great! Are there other pacman 3d games like this? I've never seen one where you can see through the walls like this. I had fun but there are a couple of bugs. The mouse gets stuck so you can't move around very well even in fullscreen. And if you walk off the edge, well... you will never be eaten by ghosts. Cool game though.

not quite sure i understand this game. but a 3D pacman when polished would look really cool
