Just a couple of points:

  • Like others have said, the footsteps are ridiculously loud but the thing is it doesn't seem to be the right sound of walking on grass.
  • I think the game's scope might be too ambitious to finish in a week, so you guys may need to scope down the next time.

Thanks for the feedback! And yeah, we probably could have done better with the scope  ^^;

Despite never playing "Mother", I find this to be a nice little game. Calm and charming.

Pros

  • Nice, consistent art style. Given more time, I can see this turning into a real charming title
  • Music fits well. Calm and smooth.
  • Exploring the open world

Cons

  • Controls feel... strange. Unresponsive maybe. I wasn't sure, but it just wasn't smooth.
  • Attacks would sometimes disappear in front of me.
  • Agree that hitboxes seem wrong on world objects. I would often get stuck, or want to go behind trees.

Thank you so much for the feedback! :D

Also forgot to mention: The footstep sounds are so loud!!

Developer

Yeah... that is a problem :(

Thanks for the feedback.  Yeah I know what you mean about the controls. I think its more animation timing and exit times that need tweaking, just ran out of time. Also used the tilemap for colliders also to save time at the expensive of realistic collisions.  Yeah there's an issue I didn't have time to debug with ranged projectiles destroying on load, probably hitting the enemy attack collider or something.

But yeah thanks for the feedback :)
