@Anamnesis - could you specify which browser version and OS you were running on? I just tried to repro this in Chrome on Win 8, Win 7, and OS X and it started fine here. If I can repro it I can fix it!
As Jupiter mentioned, this doesn't seem to work. I tried it in both Chrome and Firefox with no difference. The title page loads and sings the "Promiscuous Flea" theme song but the space bar doesn't start the game. Nor does any other key or mouse button I thought to push.
