I loved the clones and how they looked and felt. I also loved the use of AutoHand, the physics in that package are stellar and so the use of it is always an up for me. The physics felt really fun but definitely made it a little hard to control the tone at times. It was also really difficult to record everything in time but that's something I figured going into this as trying to solve that issue would definitely go beyond the scope of this jam. This was super fun and once again I really loved the clones and it honestly made me think of all the really cool implementations for them in other types of projects. If you ever made a packaged-up clone system and threw it on the Unity Asset Store I'd definitely be first in line to get a copy.
Well done! Had some fun with this one, the looping of the clones is great! Hands and instrument's felt very clean!
Neato! One man loop band, in VR!
I'm curious what interactions you used for this, the springs on the wrist for the drumsticks were really great and a desirable effect for most VR interactables. I wasn't able to get the looping going, but the idea of runtime VR musical sequencing would make the Marc Rebillets of VR very happy, and a very clever idea all around. Were the blocks' pitch created by modifying the pitch of the block, or through different samples of different tones? See also cowbell?
I really like that the drums' volume was tied to the impulse of the collision, that improved their 'drum' feel. Great musical instruments and really clever presentation! Very cool!
You are onto something here!
Unfortunately I don't have much musical talent, so I cant compose any cool clone orchestra. But maybe this game can teach me in the future.
The execution of the recordings and clones is great and feels very clean, as well as the instruments.
Small things for improvement:
I hope I'll see a bit more of this project in the future.
Great ideas, Was definitely planning on adding them but couldn't due to time but both the lack of deadzone and the clones not being on a timer is holding the game back alot. I defo plan on coming back to this game and updating it so its alot more playable. Thanks for playing and thank you for the feedback!
