We are excited to announce uOGDC's second July jam! This time, you won't be making a game, but a soundtrack!

As game development is a multimedia endeavor, there are many skills that a game developer might need; coding, although important, is only one of these skills. The goal of this jam is to encourage you to expand your creative horizons and, through whatever means you like, create some music.

The goal of this jam is to:

🎶Create a soundtrack for an imaginary game!🎶

This time, there is no theme! Instead, there are three categories:

    1. Title Screen Track

The theme that plays at your game's title screen - this should be a concise introduction to the vibe of your game.

    2. Main Gameplay Track

The music that plays during the main gameplay of your game. It might be energetic fight music, or atmospheric overworld music, or something else - whatever fits your game!

    3. Pause Screen Track

The music that plays in the pause menu of your game. Think of it as a sort of elevator music - calming, minimalist,  a nice break from the action.

Guidelines:

  • You may submit a maximum of one song per category
  • Your songs may be of any genre, and may be made with any tools or software available to you
  • The game doesn't have to be imaginary - if you have a game that you're working on and would like to make a soundtrack for that, that works too
  • Please keep the content of your submissions PG

How to Submit:

You can submit by creating an itch.io page and submitting it to the jam as with any other jam. However, make sure to attach your songs as audio fileto your project page (by uploading them in the downloadable files section). Then, in the text on your project page, make sure to indicate which song you are submitting for each category. A brief description of your imaginary game (and where your songs would appear in it) to help set the scene would also be appreciated :]
