I enjoyed playing this, one of the best I tried so far. It's playable and fun. I like that you did the art, too (looks nice). I think this inspired me to take a jab at game art. :)

Worked fine in Linux with Wine. You can easily export for Linux and Mac as well, for the few of us. Happy to see Godot being used. Good luck!

Thank you! I'm so glad you were able to play it in Linux. It was my first time exporting from Godot, and uploading to itch, so I ran out of time before I thought to do so.

Just wow! This game is amazing and overall feels very complete. The graphics, the style, the sounds, the game play - everything very solid!

Saying youre beginner makes me really not believe you. Awesome concept and game.

Developer

I guess I'll take that as a compliment, haha. This is my first completed game (i.e. first time adding art, a story, sound effects, an "ending"), but it does rest atop a mountain of abandoned projects... Thanks for playing.

That was a really cool game, good job! Really enjoyed the mechanic, the art and narration. A background sound/music would have been nice to fill the silence, but overall really cool project!

A pretty nice game! The puzzles were hard enough to keep me thinking (especially the last one) and the art style was nice too. The boss giving instructions was a nice touch too. I also liked the little message he gave when the first robot fell off.  Controlling two people fits the theme well too

Complete well thought out game.

Nice self-contained game.

Quick question: I also use Godot and wondered what did you do to get the grid movement responsive (player always responds to input)?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks!

Essentially, the characters actually move instantly between cells. The sprite is just tween'd to the final location from wherever it happens to be currently.  Does that answer your question? Feel free to message me on discord too.

Yeah got it. Thanks

Very fun and has nice art. I only have minor "bad" comments such that the restart noise is annoying and only in one ear and music would make the game have more life.

Oh, and I thought the mechanic is a great idea and the puzzles were well designed.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

This Game is amazing and really polished, im not through right know, but already want to leave you a good review ^^.
I hope you had a lot of fun making it. :) keep making games!

Developer

Thank you! It was a lot of fun to make!

Most polished game so far, is so good that it's scary

Especially cause it was all done by one person

Wish boss said something about throwing last robot in the pit but i guess is cause time constraints

Developer

Thank you so much!

I added Boss prettly late--I needed a way to introduce the main mechanic. Really wish I thought to add her earlier so I had more time to write reactions to things like that. Definitely on my list of things to expand when I get the chance!

WOW this was my favourite game so far. Like everyone says, really polished and smart puzzles. It says your a beginner but I hope that wasn't you first game ever, it was sooo good.

Developer(+1)

Wow, I'm so happy to hear that, thank you! They defined "beginner" as never published or finished a game before, and that's me. If the criteria was based on how many times projects were started and quickly abandoned, or how many game-making youtube videos watched without doing anything with them, then maybe I'd count as an expert, haha.

I think we are the same on that front hahah!

This looks and works great, the only thing is that I found the ui of therminal a little unclear

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I definitely had some challenges communicating what the terminal is doing.

Really fun and polished puzzle game. Loved the ongoing dialogue and mapping mechanic, very cool!

Well done!

Developer

I appreciate it. Thanks for playing!

Really well polished game! The visuals and animation look spot on. I found the mechanic of mapping keys individually really interesting and would love to see the rest of those puzzles (and cool lore) that we missed :).

One suggestion I would give is on restarting a level, it would be nice if the text didn't pop up again (unless there's new dialog because of your death). That way it feels a little faster to jump back into the puzzle if you messed up (especially on the first level). Speaking of, I found it hilarious that you can just jump down the elevator shaft at the start xD.

Also, the game felt a little silent much of the time. More sound effects and maybe a quiet ambient track would be cool :).

Congrats on your first game!

Thanks for the review and the suggestions!

So glad someone found the elevator joke. I fell in on accident while testing and I just had to put something there, haha.

Very fun and cute game, would love to see this concept expanded on in the future! I'm amazed how much you could do in 48 hours. Great job, I love it!

Developer

Thank you! That means a lot!
