- Let me start by saying the graphics were excellent! I enjoyed playing this. I struggled at times to recognize what exactly I was supposed to be prioritizing - finding more valuable fish seemingly at random, or catching everything as quick as possible. I was playtesting in the simulator and found that sometimes the fish required pressing A or Cranking to catch which was frustrating. I had expected it to be a high score chasing arcade style game and it felt a bit more like playing bop it where I would drop fish by doing the wrong thing in my haste. A small visual queue/delineation of certain fish are certain mini games would go a long ways to helping. If I knew that certain fish always required the crank, that would be me improving at the game and also having a better chance of catching them. I hope to see it get further refined and the ocean much much bigger!

Very fun concept! Lots you could do with this. I expected to be able to dive deeper, but with the small circle of light it didn't really matter because so much of the screen was a mystery!

A fun little arcade game! I'm not very good at it, only got a score of 300 after a few runs. The graphics are quite nice, although I feel like the fish don't quite match the rest of the visual style. Music is nice too, but... 8 MB?! Gotta compress that audio more! I appreciated the little minigames that popped up, but it was a bit frustrating that the two types of minigame had completely different control styles, and sometimes I'd fail the minigame before I even parsed what I was supposed to be doing (they look quite similar). Personally, I'd either remove/greatly extend the timer to fail (you're already incentivized to catch fish quickly due to the overall timer) or pick one type of minigame and stick to it. It was especially annoying to fail the cranking minigame and then have my claw go shooting up to the top of the screen since I'm still cranking.
Still, it's a fun arcade game and it's a good fit for the system!
Thanks for playing :D we wanted to make it hard, hence having multiple minigames, and you have to have quick reaction time. I'm not going to change the timer, because it's meant to be the biggest challenge of the game, but I will take your advice about making them look different. Definitely gonna fix that in the full version. I'll also have an upgrade (the full version's going to have a shop where you can sell your fish and buy better gear) to be able to choose a specific minigame and only get that one (but it will be harder than it normally is). I'll make sure to add a crank buffer after the minigame finishes, too.
