You are invited to join the UAT Game Jam slated to wrap up the Summer semester on July 17th - 26th, hosted online by the University of Advancing Technology beginning at 5:30 pm on Friday the 17th of July.

What if I’ve never made a game before?

This game jam is for you. We've extended this jam to fall over 2 weekends. Professors will be available on discord to mentor you and help you solve problems. Veteran jammers and experienced developers are strongly encouraged to partner with and mentor newbies!

What is the theme?

It's a secret. We'll reveal the theme at the start of the jam.

Diversifiers

Diversifiers are voluntary secondary constraints that individual teams can choose to add to their game for an additional challenge. If you implement any of these diversifiers in your game, please mention them in your game's description.

  • Recycle - Use an asset from a previous jam.
  • Who made it better? - Design your game with another team, but then see who makes the better version of the game.
  • Game of the Year - Your game raises awareness about an important social issue from this year.
  • Gray Area - Your game art is entirely in gray-scale.
  • NES Palette - Your game uses the color palette of the Nintendo Entertainment System
  • Tiny Epic Game - Your entire game can fit on a single 1.44MB floppy disk.
  • The player's actions generate the soundtrack for the game.
  • Foley - Your music is sung by the team and your sound effects are vocalized by your team.
  • Codeless - You didn't write a single line of code to develop your game.
  • The Power of Friendship - Your core mechanic turns enemies into friends.
  • Accessible - Your game can be easily played by the vision impaired.

How do I submit?

Judging will begin on Zoom at 12 pm on Sunday, July 26th. Upload your build to this jam page and be prepared to present your game on Zoom. Awards will follow immediately after judging.
