This project has a theme of "predator-prey" relationships and required elements include a plant, a herbivore and a carnivore.  This project may be either a game or a simulation.

The rubric contains a detailed description of the requirements.  There are a total of 105 possible points from the rubric.  Each category is worth 15 points (all 5 elements), 12.5 points (4 elements), 10 points (3 elements), 5 points (2 elements), 2.5 points (1 element) or 0 points (no elements).

THEME How well does this project meet the theme? Required Elements: 1) at least one plant 2) at least one herbivore 3) at least one carnivore 4) a special interaction between the plant and herbivore 5) a special interaction between the herbivore and carnivore. 

USER INTERFACE How well does the user interface function? Required Elements: 1) game data is tracked and displayed (score, plants eaten, etc.) 2) the camera tracks the player or game objects in a useful manner 3) user input is used to control the player or game objects 4) a help or explanation screen appears when the user hits escape 5) more than 1 screen of user information is accessible (so at least the help screen, plus high scores, detailed game data, credits, etc.)

SCRIPTS Does the game use scripts to control the game objects? Required Elements: 1) A script that controls the plant 2) A script that controls the herbivore 3) A script that controls the carnivore 4) At least 1 useful if statement in a script 5) A script that controls anything else (terrain generation, user interface, etc.)

DOCUMENTATION How well did this project use the design documentation? Required Elements: 1) link to your design documentation provided 2) at least one documented change in response to peer feedback 3) the description of sound and effects in the documentation is a complete list of sounds and effects in the completed product 4) the description of gameplay mechanics in the documentation is a complete list of the gameplay mechanics in the completed product 5) the description of user interface in the documentation is a complete list of the user interface screens in the completed product.

SOUND AND VISUAL How well does this project use sound and visual effects? 1) There is a sound or visual effect for the plant 2) There is a sound or visual effect for the herbivore 3) There is a sound or visual effect for the carnivore 4) There is a sound or visual effect for 1 additional game object, or multiple effects for either a plant, herbivore or carnivore. 5) There is a sound or visual effect for 3 or more additional game objects, or multiple effects for all of the plant, herbivore and carnivore objects.

AGENCY If this is a game, does the player have the agency to affect multiple types of game objects? If this is a simulation, does the user have agency to change the details of how multiple types of game object interact? Required Elements: 1) The player is the plant, the player can interact with the plant, or the user can tune the interactions of the plant with the world. 2) The player is the herbivore, the player can interact with the herbivore, or the user can tune the interactions of the herbivore with the plant. 3) The player is the carnivore, the player can interact with the carnivore, or the user can tune the interactions of the carnivore with the herbivore. 4) Non-player game objects interact with each other. 5) Either the choices of the player, or the settings assigned by the user, make it possible for the distribution of plants, herbivores and carnivores to change throughout the game or simulation.

WORLD How well does the world function in this project? Required Elements: 1) Players and game pieces cannot become trapped in a manner that feels buggy 2) Players and game pieces interact with the world in a way that feels appropriate 3) The world either has well functioning boundaries, or spawns new world terrain automatically 4) The world has color choices that make it easy to tell various game objects from each other. 5) The world has shape or art choices that make it easy to tell various game objects from each other.
