I really like the premise, and I liked the detail of people becoming skeletons as they were dissolved. However, I found myself losing interest fast. Partly because there was a lot of time I didn't see a target and started just wandering aimlessly, but also because there didn't feel like there were any stakes. Maybe some victims fight back and the lurch can work like a dodge?
Nice work! I did a quick recording of my playthrough, I hope you find it helpful 😄
Hunger Cubed by Gentoo Digital | Cap Recording
It was really fun to find and eat people as the cube - I also really like how the captured people slowly disintegrate into skeletons. I would have loved the opportunity to eat a lot more people as that was the highlight of the game for me!
I really loved how the humans would like run away from me, the beast, it was pretty funny and definitely a really good take on the theme "feed the beast"! For a critique, I would just say that after a while it just felt like a walking simulator, and there weren't any indicators of where anything was. But I get it, you only had 3 hours. Nice work :)
Very charming concept! The effect of the adventurers dissolving was very satisfying. Unfortunately, I didn't feel much skill expression in the game, as it mostly consists of wandering until an adventurer appears, then trivially chasing them down. The sound effects were nice, though. Simple and gooey.

Great game i love the theme and animations. Very simple but very fun.
I just found myself sliding around without seeing any adventurers for a while. Did a few runs and only got around 5 (I was unlucky on spawns I guess)
Overall I love it and bet your wife has played it a lot 💚
Oh dang, that is unlucky! They spawn 1 per second, which slowly ramps down over time, plus 12 pre-spawned near player spawn. You can usually find groups if you keep moving to different areas of the dungeon. My current best is 61, which has admittedly been quite hard to beat. I'm glad you enjoyed it, nonetheless! I had a lot of fun with the DnD theme.
Just like me playing D&D then with my luck. (This is why I am the DM and not a player)
I enjoyed being the beast haha :P I loved being the beast haha :P Great job drawing several adventurers, creating the sound design and coding a complete and functional little game within the proper time limit!
Thank you! I finished with a fraction of a second to spare. It was insanely close.
This is rad! I love the effect of dissolving the adventurers, and the attention to detail in the slime trail growing with you. Super cute art and very impressive for the dev time!
My best I managed was 45
I appreciate it! The gameplay is insanely simple, so I decided to focus on making it feel as good as possible with sound and visual effects. And 45 is pretty good! Anything above 40, really, as you usually start shrinking pretty fast by that point. My current best is 61.
