Changing direction of the saws is a good idea. Have a lot of potential features that can be added. Continue like that 👍
Game fits the theme with the reversable saws.
Time constraints really limit the sorts of things you can implement, I like what you got in here. If I could make some suggestions for potential next steps:
Look into Coyote time related to platformers. Basically it gives you a split second after walking off the edge before gravity takes effect (think Wile E Coyote and the RoadRunner). This is a helpful, forgiving mechanic for platformers if you can implement it.
Consider having the saws have a default rotation cycle, and the switch key, inverts the cycle instead of all saws going Right to Left or Left to Right. That would force the player to have to swap the saws more often, between jumps or even while running on a platform. Right now, once the saws are going the same direction the character needs to run, there isn't a ton of need to switch them again.
All in all, A good job on a platformer, would love to see what else you can do!
Really promising for your first game jam especially picking one thats so short! It was a cool idea and there's definitely potential for more levels/puzzles here, keep doing jams and you'll only get faster at making things :)
Very cool idea and fits well into the theme of the jam! I think there should be a very short time limit for switching the blades otherwise you can just spam E
Nice idea. It would be cool if there was a part where changing the direction of the saw was necessary to progress.
