Theme

Hot Spring Town

Correlation to theme
My idea was to evoke a rainy night in a modern town known for hot springs or onsens. I'm not sure I really nailed the feel of a town BGM or not though!

Oh, smooth sounds you got there! Kinda feel jazzy so I tends to imagine more of a night city or a bar, but hey, the track is amazing anyway! Good job!

Somehow, this song feels really familiar... Ah, it's probably nothing.

Nice entry! I love the rain at the starts, really Lo-Fi like. Fits the theme nicely. The introduction of the trumpet is also smooth. The whole song is very easy on the ear, which is lovely. Nice job :D

You might be thinking of True by Spandau Ballet haha

I didn't actually take it directly from that song or even use it for inspo before I started, but I definitely recognized that same sound with the short chords when listening back to it, and other people have noticed it as well, so it must have been sitting somewhere in my subconscious (Which makes sense, it's a really catchy phrase).

I actually used this video as my primary inspiration, as well as some drums from an Animal Crossing song that I liked.

very relaxing. i love when the sax comes in. i feel like rain sfx plus the (what i think are) epiano chords give the track this super nice chill and relaxing ambiance.

imo feel like the composition could've used some work. id love to hear a nice little intro or at least a  second or two of rain before getting into those relaxing chords (but that's probably me just being picky lol). my only other complaint is that its too short lol. its such a vibe of a song but it's to short, i want to hear more.

overall id say you did a pretty good job entrancing me into this hot spring town

I loved it, the intro relaxed to become very funky and synths go very well with the bass

This is some quality lounge music! The neo soul chord progression gives a very chill vibe that would perfectly fit a hot tub town. The rain sound effects add immensely to the atmosphere. The saxophone melody is well-crafted with great flow and direction while still being unique. Overall great job and thank you for sharing!

Hey! I'm touched that you've taken on board the advice I gave on Discord. I find the arrival of the saxophone clearer and more satisfying with the drop in rain sound :)

The lounge, sensual, cosy feel is very well rendered. I really like it.

OMG I totally meant to @ you in disc to thank you but totally forgot. The notes you gave were really really useful, I wish I had more time to work on the baseline but even the small part I added from your suggestion really added a lot of depth to the sax melodies (Minus one note that I didn't realize was off until I listened back after submission haha).

It was really good feedback which actually made me think a bit more about composition and what parts I wanted to ring out and emphasize (Especially with using automation to kind of push the rain off into the background), so off the back of that I actually played around with some of the chords and adding/removing from the drumline to draw attention to different parts (With varying success).

Thanks!

The lofi/jazzy sound is really nice - its almost noir-sounding. This track definitely fits the chill/relaxing vibes of a hot spring, and I think it fits the theme really well!!

I loved this soundtrack and the cover image that you used for your soundtrack submission. The saxophone was a really nice touch to the music. For some reason, the track reminds me of Persona 5. It has that vibe that it could be used for after school or coffeehouse music. I loved it!

I agree, it has a feel of Persona 5
