This came together well, especially with being able to get an entire OST dang
The deep historical/lore references are a given, and I'm probably a bit biased for liking some of the maps but wow the backgrounds are pretty, especially Eternity's room and the Immortal Smoke and End of Daylight dreams. Some of the overworld character interactions are pretty funny too, I like how the lake is just the cool hangout for cool fairies. Will definitely be happy seeing more added to this.

I had a lot of fun with the maps, especially like turning your concept sketches into proper maps, that was super fun
Misty Lake is the hangout spot of all the best Fairies! And Wriggle! Maybe Rumia eventually!
I think I liked writing Wriggle's lines the most. I always write her a little brutal and dubious for some reason

and just like your last game, you're makin me second-guess my thought-to-be-near-complete touhou knowledge.
it contains a lot of art for jam period, the worlds are very nice. i have not played very much of strange telephone so i don't have that for comparison but the theming of the zones is very nice and yume nikki-like, my favorites are the dream more scarlet than red and the final one
i did not read any of the game's page until after playing so for a bit i thought it was just a game where you walk outside and talk to your pals and sleep to end the game. which, by itself, still woulda been cool with all their high quality sprites and lotsa dialogue

Something I've learned from having Touhou as a Special Interest is that there's always more to learn, and I absolutely love putting that stuff into my fanworks, so I'm glad it can be appreciated!
The art killed me lol, I'm really glad you like those maps! The final one took the longest, not because of its length, but because I couldn't think of easy memories to draw. That one will get improved in later versions to contain more memories and more chaos
I do intend to continue development! My end goal is to have something at a similar scale to Strange Telephone in terms of maps, so I have a long way to go!
I was very hyped when I heard about a Yume Nikki game starring Eternity Larva, simply because I like YN and Larva, but I didn't reflect further on why Larva is a good match for such a game. Having played the game, the concept makes even more sense to me: Just like Madotsuki is trapped in her repetitive life with only video games as her escape in the waking world, Eternity is trapped in a repetitive and frivolous life as a fairy, with dreams being her only window to something more meaningful. (This is not really me judging the lives of the fairies, just me trying to draw parallels to YN. As in YN, there is no guarantee that breaking the cycles will make Larva happier...)
So the concept is great. How is the game? I'm not sold on the 2D-nature of the dream world, since I don't see how exploration would work. I also think the writing and some of the art (but not all of it) is very in-your-face, compared to YN, but this may be a result of the general lack of content, and not a fundamental problem. (Seeing literal scenes from Eternity's past would feel more meaningful if they were deep in her subconsciousness, and not directly accessible through the hub.)
In short, I'm still hyped for the game, and I hope you'll continue to work on it. Do you have some kind of forum or channel where you discuss development?

If you're genuinely curious how a sidescroller would work for a dream sim game, I'd recommend checking out Strange Telephone, as that's the primary inspiration for this game. It relies on having lots of worlds as opposed to big worlds. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but I like it for the opportunities it gives me to make many many maps
In the final game, the Hub is going to be replaced entirely with a system that's somewhere between Strange Telephone's and the world-finding system from the .hack// games. I'm undecided on how exactly it will work yet, but it will mean that scenes will be buried deeper than they are in this demo. For anything like that, basically just chalk it up to me feeling the need for everything to be accessible in the demo for the purpose of having a game to play - I didn't have much time for many filler maps, and I wanted to show that the story has something to it, so I elected to write it like a normal game for now, and make it more dream sim later down the line
I don't have anywhere I discuss development. I didn't really think it would be something people would be interested in ^^;

Really dig the structure of the game; neat to have a set of worlds to explore (never played Yume Nikki so this was really fresh for me). All the areas also look super distinct and the characters are nicely written (also for some strange reason, the Black and White world gives me the strange urge to write a video essay...).

Good game! I enjoyed the conversations with the fairies and being able to change the music is a nice touch. The story went a bit over my head and had a bit of a "demo" feel to it, but I can tell there's already a lot of effort put into it. I liked the melancholic atmosphere.

An interesting choice of scenarios, couldn't help thinking on Yume Nikki while playing this, it's interesting to know better larva's past, I just hope this could get a longer version, some day.
Sorry to hear what you went through while making the game, must have been hard days, but still, what it came from that was quite decent, music has some flaws, but it somehow feels balanced with the game style, so its fine.
This game is inspired by Yume Nikki and Strange Telephone (which is itself inspired by Yume Nikki), so I'm glad that comes across!
This will get a longer version. I have full intentions of turning it into a complete game someday, though since I'm always busy, it might be a while
I love the writing in this and the graphics are very cute. The music volume wildly jumping up and down on its own was kind of distressing, though the music was good.

I tried my best to get the music volume consistent with itself, but it seems like a few tracks don't have consistent volume within the tracks themselves too. I'll need to figure out how to fix that, but also generally try to figure out how to balance all of the tracks to the same volume. Sound isn't my strong suit because of my hearing unfortunately
