This jam is now over. It ran from 2023-10-13 07:00:00 to 2023-11-20 08:00:00. View 3 entries

Spread your wings and create something you don't normally create. Or, for some Halloween vibes, face your fears by getting out of your comfort zone!

This is a jam for analog games: TTRPGs, tabletop games, or anything else that doesn't require an electronic device to play. And if you're wondering whether what you're creating is a game: yes it is, go for it!

Everything below is optional as long as you do at least one thing differently from your standard. And if you've never made a game, congrats: you're way outside of your comfort zone!

Only games released after the jam starts qualify. When you submit your game you'll be asked what you did differently with this game. This will be public information so everyone can see how you grew as a creator! ๐Ÿ™Œ

See the community page for the FAQ.

  • Create a game in a genre or style you haven't used before.
  • Confine yourself to a very small game, or if you often make small games, make something HUGE.
  • Make a bunch of roll tables? NO ROLL TABLES ALLOWED, mwahahaha!
  • You've never made a solo game? Now you can! Or if you typically make solo games, make a party game!
  • Are your games often silly and light? Do some research and make a game based on a nonfictional event.

  • Make each of these aspects of your game something new-to-you:
    • The components
    • The mechanics
    • The rulebook shape/length
    • The number of players
    • The length of time to play it
    • The number of winners: everyone can win, or only one person loses, or merely by playing everyone wins or loses!)
    • The theme

  • Use a new tool.
  • Make all the art yourself; or if you usually make your own art, use a new style.
  • If you're wordy like me, limit yourself to a tiny word count. Can you make a game with 500 words across all the components and the rulebook?
  • If you've used other peoples' SRDs before, make your own!
