This Jam is being hosted by TCS Interactive for recruitment purposes only.

The theme for this track is "Mother Nature".

You need to make an interactive or non-interactive 3D scene using Unity or Unreal Engine based on this theme. This track is for Tech Artists and the focus should be around Aesthetics and Scene Optimization (Draw Calls, Batch Count, Frame Rate and so on)

There should be a way for the user to move around the scene. If the scene is non-interactive, the build must have a cinematic camera sequence showing the various parts of the scene.

Software Requirements:

  • Either Unity (v2019 and above) or Unreal Engine 4 (v4.25 and above)
  • Git for Source Control

Details:

  • 15-30 minutes before the Jam starts, TCS will send an email announcing the theme. The Jam page will also get updated with the theme.
  • The project must include at-least one custom made Material(Unreal) or Shader(Unity)
  • The deliverables are the build itself uploaded to Itch.io and the project source files pushed to GitHub.
  • YOU MUST PROVIDE A LINK TO YOUR GITHUB REPO IN THE FIELD PROVIDED
  • Only WebGL, MacOS and Windows builds will be considered.
  • The time frame for the Jam will be the rest of the day after it starts. The deadline will NOT be extended.
  • The candidates MUST not upload a build after the designated time period. The same goes for pushing the code/project files. The web platforms will enforce this.
  • The app will be judged on these parameters (non-exhaustive):
    • Aesthetics
    • Lighting
    • Optimization
    •  Relevance to Theme

Tips for Candidates:

  • The candidates should ideally be ready with their Itch.io and GitHub profiles BEFORE the Jam.
  • It would also be helpful if the base Unity/Unreal project is already setup and pushed to GitHub before the Jam (Make sure to use the appropriate .gitignore file otherwise your application might get rejected). This means the candidates should decide what kind of app (3D/AR/VR) they want to make before the Jam begins. But if they change their mind later, they can make adjustments to their base project.
  • Its always good to provide credit when using other's work - assets, sprites, techniques, etc.
  • Target to submit at least 30-45 minutes before the submission deadline to avoid any last minute glitches.
