A very short and simple prototype, the environment visuals are nice, but the fact that the player is represented by a circle and the killer by a square don't fit at all with them. They feel more like placeholders, which they probably are.
The killer is also way too easy to avoid, I never felt like there was any danger of getting caught by him. Not even when I ran into a dead end, you can quite literally run circles around him. I've completed the game in about two minutes, I guess I was lucky I found the exit that fast.
Good work! Are you planning on working on this further?
I liked the art. The textures are nice and evokative of something horrific. The music is too, but could use some variation.
It’s clear this is a start of something. So, I won’t tell you things I think you already know. I guess I would like to see some sort of patrolling behavior to the killer, so it doesnt’ just immediately travel to the player. Only when it detects the player should it start tracking them. And I think an end point to the game would be good. Like, make it out of the maze and you get a “you won” screen or something.
Really like the movement and atmosphere here, I would definitely switch out the placeholder art when you have time, also, maybe implement a different AI behavior so the killer doesn't immediately start following the player?
that was fun, the controls worked very nicely but i could have used a bit more instruction or a different color for the killer, i tried to collect him the first time I died.
Yep definitely creepy vibe locked in and a sneaky killer giving you the run about. I picked up the green and seemed to run faster.
Ultimately a little more instruction or narration could have helped - perhaps an internal monologue or some instructional (could be terrifying) pop up mini animations or pictures. This would fill some blanks for the place holders squares and things.
It controls felt smooth and reactive, finally it seems the killer gravitates to the player it would be nice if you could lose him and he can make seeking paths to find you from last know or noises made perhaps.
Nice job -- my favorite part of this game is that the motion is just right where you can juke the pursuer (like, go left and cut right at the right moment) which is fun. Really nice floor material, great lighting, very smooth light rotation and movement on turns. Nice!
