  • Amazing game! I believe you should try to incorporate the theme "Afraid of the dark" a little more into it however, the game was fun and I think it has a lot of potential for growth!

Amazing game!

The game was fun and I think it has a lot of potential for growth! You definitely had me scared when the first flying spirit just jumped at me out of no where!

I think you could improve upon the visual feedback when you hit an enemy. I'm not sure this has much to do with the theme but otherwise it's a good game!

Well this one was sufficiently creepy! The flying spirit is absolutely terrifying. I think from straight nightmares.

Things I Liked:

  • The aesthetics of this were great. I absolutely hate that spirit flying at me, which makes me love it more.
  • A unique direction for a Halloween VR jam. I wouldn't have thought to put a Beat Saber like game with a Halloween foundation.
  • Overall UI was simple and clean. I could clearly understand what I was expected to do based off what I was presented.
  • Very cool that you got this working in a web browser.

Some Notes:

  • The heads tended to move a bit too fast at times. I think this could have benefited from the heads moving slowly at first and as time goes by, ramping up the speed.
  • It felt like there were some collision detection issues. Either that, or I was really really bad at the game lol.

This was a unique take for the Halloween jam!

Thanks for a great entry!!

It's really impressive to see a web VR game that runs so smooth and yet looks good in terms of graphics.

I found the gameplay itself a little bit too simple. If I just hold both knifes they collide with all projectiles.

Environment and the enemy are very well designed. Great job! 👏🏻

It's a cool concept. Like Beat saber in a very creepy atmosphere^^

You did a great job with the whole sound and environment.

Biggest problem for me was, that i couldn't understand the language of the text on your UI, so was not really sure, what to do. And the enemies came extremely fast (played the Quest 2 version). So just tried somehow to slice and later beat them (saw on twitter you're a boxer), but it's really hard. I think the most i got was 4 or 5.

So i think all in all a great entry, and if you make the actual gameplay a bit easier probably pretty fun :-)

Loved the art!! Great job!

I tried the PC build as the web version wasn't working for me. Is that perhaps an older version? The heads flying at me were ULTRA fast (half a second to reach me?), it was hard trying to figure out which color was which. I usually died within 3 seconds lol. Creepy heads, good selection of sounds though! Maybe if the heads flew at like a quarter of the speed I could pick out the color to hit them with. The environment was very cool though, did you model it yourself?

Developer

Thank you for the advice. I will reduce the speed by half for playing on PC.

The "Environment" model is an old work of mine, and you can check it out at https://sketchfab.com/daydev/models.

Creepy character - she'll give me nightmares!

Kudos for getting it working in the web browser and it ran well on the Quest - a very unique look :)

I loved the unique aesthetic!

love that you got it into a web browser! The only problem I found with it is that if you turn the blades sideways the collisions are big enough to block all the shots. Good design!
