Welcome to the SSU Games Fall 2025 Game Jam!
Get ready to create, collaborate, and connect! The SSU Games Fall Jam is a 48-hour game creation event hosted as part of Shawnee State University's Family & Alumni Weekend. Whether you're a seasoned developer, an artist, a writer, a musician, or a complete beginner, this is your chance to join a team and bring a game to life.
Theme: The theme will be revealed at the kick-off event on Friday, October 10th at 5:00 PM in ATC 251!
How It Works
- Join Us: Show up at the kick-off or join our Discord to find a team.
- Form a Team: Work alone or collaborate. Teams can include students, alumni, family, and friends!
- Create: You have from 5:00 PM Friday to 5:00 PM Sunday to design, build, and submit your game based on the theme.
- Submit: Upload your game to this itch.io jam page before the deadline.
- Celebrate: Join us for the live showcase on Sunday evening to play everyone's games!

- 3:00 PM: Game Uploads Begin
- 5:00 PM: HARD DEADLINE - All Submissions Due
- 6:00 PM: PRESENTATIONS (ATC 251)
- Immediately Following: LIVE GAME SHOWCASE! (ATC 250-258) - The main event! Come upstairs to play all the amazing games!
Who Can Join?
Everyone! You do not need to be a programmer to participate. Games need all kinds of skills:
- Coding & Design
- Art & Animation
- Writing & Storytelling
- Music & Sound Effects
- Testing & Feedback
- Ideas & Leadership
- Marketing & Pitching
This jam is open to SSU students, alumni, faculty, staff, and their families. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged!
Rules & Guidelines
- Respect Everyone: Be excellent to each other. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Work During the Jam: Start your projects after the theme is announced on Friday. You can use pre-made tools and libraries, but create most of the content during the event.
- Team Size: There is no strict limit, but we recommend teams of 1-6 people.
- Submit on Time: Upload your game to this itch.io page before 5:00 PM EST on Sunday, October 12th.
- Have Fun! The goal is to learn, meet new people, and make something you're proud of.
