I was having a hard time figuring out what to do in the game. I really appreciate all the detail you put in itch io game's page. This game's scale is very large and it was fun.
One bug that I really like is when the game doesn't despawn the player. and respawn them anyway. I encountered myself from the past. It was fun controlling all of them.
Overall it is a really great game! well done!
Glad you enjoyed playing our game despite the bug :D
I didn't understand at first, but after that it was fun! great game
Thank you :) glad you enjoyed ^^
I enjoyed the tension of slowly walking around to not attract the attention of the weird bug creature, but unfortunately the glowsticks didn't always manage to catch its attention properly each time. There's some potential in the balancing act of energy tho! Also, big fan of that horse poster in the first hallway, loved to look at it.
Thank you :)
Even though it might not be finished, it definitely looks promising! The lighting effects are cool and I like how you can throw the glow sticks as an external source of light. Glad to see you got the little robot dog to work! It seems like the project may have been a little over-ambitious! My advice is to just start with a super simple idea (even if it doesn't sound that fun) and then your game will naturally evolve from there. Especially when you are working in a larger group, it can be hard to have everyone on the same page, so starting with a really simple idea makes it a lot easier. Great job though! I look forward to what you guys make in the future!
Thank you for your feedback and advice :D We definitely had a very big idea for a game jam and will try to make our ideas simpler in the future. Thanks again :)
Sorry game wont load. If you fix it reply so I can play it ^^.
The game is working now working on the website. We look forward to your feedback ^^
I played and rated the game, its good game would be much better with animations and sound. 4/5.
Would love to see what you have to say for my game.
I didn't find more than one task to do - is this due to not having finished the game or was I too dumb? ^^ unfortunately there was some weird stuff happening when I die. The other characters didn't disappear and when I found them on the map I could control them too. But (maybe because they already were at 0 HP) I instantly lost the game when this bug touched them. The idea itself is cool but there was too less things which were worth using your flashlight or glowstick for. Theme-wise you could have maybe explained why exactly the flashlight uses your life instead a battery to work ^^ but I mean it was your first jam (if I read correctly) and you didn't get finished so I guess most of that would have been done anyway if you had more time. Hope you'll do more jams to apply what you learned from this one :)
Thank you for your feedback! For the tasks, no you are not dumb, there are tasks in each room and we forgot/couldn't put a system or pointer that directed the player to the exits/other rooms. The bug for multiple players on the screen was a bug we were aware of but could not fix in time. It had something to do with the current player being in DontDestroyOnLoad and then when respawned in the first room, it would reload the first scene and add another player to DontDestroyOnLoad. I do plan on attending more game jams and I appreciate and will apply your advice. tyvm :)
I included a map in the description to indicate where the player needs to go, hope this helps :)
Oh yeah, thx! I'll try it again then :)
As you mentioned, unfortunately the game won't load, the most likely cause for this is the build being compressed. You fix this by going into project settings > Player and then change compression format to "disabled".
Thank you for the tip :) I am currently in school and don't have access to the project files. After school I will try this out and let you know the outcome ^^
It worked, thank you very much for this advice!
