Ooh, this definitely has a spooky feel to it! I actually thought that the imagery that the song itself was evoking in my mind was a bit disconnected from the text and images you included for the description. I didn't get the sense of someone slowly coming to realize something is coming after them -- I think the intro would have needed to be a little quieter and build up for that.

Rather, this came across as someone that's running away mid-chase in a very climactic scene! Also, maybe it's because of the grand pipe organ-like sounds, but I also didn't get the feeling of someone being alone on a foggy street. Instead, I was picturing a gothic castle of some sort. I will say, though, my viewpoint is probably biased heavily by genre tropes -- in some ways it might be good to play around with existing conventions to keep things interesting.

That all has to do more with intent, though -- when it comes to the piece on its own, I think it succeeded in creating an atmosphere akin to some old school horror movies. You mentioned that this is your first time creating music, and this is actually an amazing first attempt! I think as you continue to learn and improve, you can think about things like mixing (EQ, reverb, stereo, etc.), but you should be proud of what you've made -- good work!

Very nice execution and cool that you went above and beyond! I like the images and text and think you are well on your way to some game music here!

For "this is my first time ever making a music", this wasn't bad at all! At first I figured, what a weird song, but when I remembered that you had text to accompany this, I stopped the music and went back to read. The music alone is a bit weird perhaps, but with the text it works quite well. I hear the "steps" you intended to make, and somehow the music matched perfectly with the text (1. "You don't hear the clomps anymore" timed for me with the pause at 0:41; 2. The ending matched with the end-sound at 0:50).
Furthermore, I liked the change at 0:29 (it also needed that - otherwise it becomes too much of the same) and mostly, I LOVED the part starting at 0:51! It reminds me of... some intro for a mid-boss from Zelda or something xD.
Overal, purely on sound it is not my favorite entry of the series, but I love the originality of trying to make a song match the text (like a movie-composer tries to match the scene). And for a first time making music, I can see that you tried out some stuff and you made it work well. Honestly, it is a good entry! You can be proud of yourself :)

What a fast and frantic song! I think it fits your narrative very well and definitely gives the sense of being chased/followed. I like the repetitive dancing around the minor third interval. The spookiness factor is increased by your use of chromatic mediant harmonic movement; moving from one minor chord to another minor chord a minor third away is an excellent way to set an uneasy atmosphere in your music. And I think it’s cool that your entire song is based on this interchange. If this is your first time making music, then you definitely have an ear for what musical progression and motion should sound like in order to enhance the emotion of the story. Overall great work and thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much! Hehe, I really wanted to mimic steps, you know something crawling on us, with the jumpscare at the end, and the finale where you get caught. So I'm glad you think it fits well !

I am by no means an expert in music theory, so I'll have to look up almost every term like "chromatic mediant harmonic"! But I'm looking forward to it.

This really is my first time. I used Bosca Ceol because this is like, the only software I know of... But it really got me interested in making more music, even for my games.

Thank you again for your post. I really enjoyed yours, the xylophone is integrated well and the kind of UFO SFX is gorgeous! (Sorry I can't describe it as good as you did for mine...)
