Intriguing story. I really enjoy reading it. That tree costume, tho XD

The visuals remind me of something but I can't think of what it was.  An old webcomic?  Maybe?  I'm getting myself off track, visuals are fun.  Story is a straightforward slasher tale, which during Halloweentimes works perfect.  Clever twist at the end, too.  Nice job!

Haha, yeah! The art style and most noticeably the backgrounds are inspired by Sr Pelo's Spooky Month, It has this charm that I really liked and i wanted to try to capture that.  Thank you!!

SR PELO!  THAT'S WHAT IT WAS!  Yeah, he's got a fun style.  Thanks for jogging my memory.  :-)

Buddd! This was a fun story! Well not for those people, but I enjoyed it. I laughed out loud at the tree costume, that was a funny idea! I liked the different costume designs for everybody and mixing in the 3d backgrounds too, nice touch! Those stairs in the foyer look really steep though! Great job :)

I love haunted houses and you built the tension so well!! I felt in danger as if I were hiding and moving around to avoid being killed. Having the coin to "blame" is also such a nice touch (and a great title). I think it's really on point. The characters are also one of the strong points since they are charismatic and have a natural dynamic as a group. I found Mary very relatable, and loved Bud's design, [spoiler] but would have appreciated a specific TW for him :(

Overall, it's a great game, a fun idea, and the ambient and tension are well built and that's not easy! Congratulations on the great job!

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And I'm sorry I didn't add a warning, it hadn't crossed my mind, so thanks for pointing it out.

Well the story was nice and character art has a charm to it. The ui is rather simplistic and a bit confusing to be honest, going through 2 menus to get to config is not that nice but overall good product!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! that's good to know, I'm still figuring UI stuff out and haven't got the whole hang of it yet, so I appreciate the feedback!

Yeah, its fine, for a jam you did well with the time you had!

Ok  - your fix worked! This was a good story with a lot of potential.  You did such a good job with making this feel interactive without actual point-and-click. The story made me want to keep advancing to know more.

Glad you enjoyed it! and thanks for the help again!

I'd love to play your game, but it keeps opening in fullscreen to a dimension not compatible to my screen. It's like jumbo size! I can't even see the game menu buttons. It looks like someone was able to play it, so any advice on how to open in windowed mode or something?

Developer(+1)

Oh, I appreciate the feedback! I had no idea.
I guess once I've got it working on my screen I figured it's one size fits all, I haven't thought it wouldn't fit on other screens. I'll look for a way to fix it and tell you as soon as I know how. Thank you!!!

Developer(+1)

Okay, slight update, I haven't quite figured out how to patch it yet.
If you'd like to fix it locally, you could alter the size by going into the files.
TWTCS > Config > Settings.xml, and then alter the vn_win_width and vn_win_height parameters at the top of the page from 1920 and 1080 to your screen's resolution.
I'll keep you posted for a patch once I get it fixed. Thanks again!!!

Developer(+1)

Apologies for the triple reply. But there's a new patch for the game with a resizable screen, not quite perfect but should get the job done for now.
Again, thank you so much for bringing this to my attention!! and hope you enjoy the game! ^^
