very straightforward and easy to learn, but fun!
I liked how you provided some feedback to let me know the speed was increasing, and it was good that the difficulty increases.
I did have a glitch in one of my games where it stopped getting hard - it kept spawning only one obstacle per screen, always the same height, and this went on for a couple min before I quit out.
It might be nice to somehow control how high you jump, but still not allow infinite jumps. Maybe based upon how long the space bar is held? or maybe give a double jump? Some way that I could come down more quickly when I didn't want to be in the air that long. Just a thought.
The game was very responsive - I felt very in control of when the jump occurred and I liked that.
A little background track might be nice - what does Kalak like to listen to when he runs?
I really liked the difficulty progression, where the obstacles got faster as they appeared, making it useful to jump early so that you don't get overwhelmed. In addition, the story at the beginning was short and nice. It starts a bit slow, but picks up the pace into something pretty enjoyable!
Good story and giving the character a name is a nice detail. I like how the game gets faster the better you do as well as taller objects. One small thing i notice is the player only has 1 jump height, a good way to fix this is maybe adding another button for lower jump height so the player have to decided "do i need to jump high or jump low".
I enjoyed it overall. It's a very simple game with nice details, like the small story. However, I think you should increase the speed from the start because it feels a bit too slow, in my opinion. Overall, it's a great game.
Took me a while to get the hang of it but my high score was up there. I like the game's fast pace but it starts too slow. Thanks
I enjoyed the concept and execution of the game. The only small thing is that I feel like the player jumps a bit too high at the start of the game, but I enjoyed it.
The game is pretty simple but good for what it is. The story for Kalak adds some peronality to the game rather than controlling just some basic square. The difficulty of the game comes from not being able to change the height/distance of your jump, but this is also what makes the game easy. Once you know the distance you jump, you can jump over everything. It also seems the game only has 3 difficulty scalings. At the 3rd, you can basically just mash jump and never die. To fix this, perhaps adjust your jump mechanic so your jump height can be controlled by how long you held the button, and then make the red obstacles more varied in their height so you're forced to care how high you jump rather than just pressing it every time one approaches. If you allow the obstacles to move at independent faster/slower speeds, you can also avoid the pitfall of them appearing too fast to ever dodge as the difficulty progresses. Hope this helped.
