  • Good effort. Nice poses. The overall colour palette could have been a bit more saturated.
  • This is a lovely creative piece, the way the eyes and face work are superb! Very clever! You know where your issue lie, especially uvs, texturing etc. Since you weren’t taught them at school it sounds wise to find them out in own time. These days there are plenty of tutorials out there especially on youtube etc, that can help you pave your way if this is the career you are after!
  • Nice model! I really like the final outcome. The finished character is very cute looking - personally I think the eyes ended up a little large for the face. I also think it emulates your moodboard reasonably well. You had some more saturated pinks, greens and purples in there which I think would have been really nice to include, as the current model is quite desaturated. A nice colour scheme, but doesn't reflect your moodboard. I do also wish you'd drawn up a concept before starting the model! It's always a good idea. The anatomy came out well. I never recommend starting with the legsand would rather see the character blocked out initially. However the anatomy turned out good regardless so in this instance it worked well. I think the plain colours work well for the character, however it's unfortunate that you couldn't show off more texturing skill in this project. It's not great that your university hasn't taught you how to texture models - this is something you should research in your own time or ask for help on as it's a crucial step. UVs definitely need work - again I understand that you weren't taught this but it's a vital skill you need to learn. The use of the UV space is overall poor and for a character with textures as simple as you've done there is no need for 6 UV maps. 1 is more than enough. It's very nice to see that you've managed to create your own rig! Overall the character is very cute, however there weren't a huge amount of technical skills on show. If this was the style you were trying to go for, I think you could have shown technical skills in other ways such as: Sculpting the character first and retopologising Making good use of the UV space In engine shader work to further push the style So while I think the character is really nice and a success, in future try to strive for more technical achievements which would stand you in good stead in a studio environment.
