Any other notes?
There's a mixture of kitbashing and a lot of custom code and tweaks. I didn't have a chance to put in a credits page, but I will soon. Whoa, this really came down to the wire. It's technically a game, but just barely.

Thanks for the opportunity!

Good environment and animations, very well done. I had a good laugh when the hunk in the bathtub showed up haha Real fun experience, good job!

I really like the concept! Short but effective! I just wish the valuables could be better distributed around the house, they’re kinda sitting together at a very obvious place. But it was a fun experience nonetheless!

Thanks! I appreciate the review! Yeah, I scattered the money in pretty obvious places mostly because I was worried that the lighting would make it too hard to find most of it. There's a bit of a tactical decision to be made if you want the highest score, since the smaller bills will fill the same amount of inventory as the big bills, and the voodoo doll is worth more money than the slots it takes up, but otherwise it's pretty easy to rack up lots of money easy. Thanks for playing!

There's been a quick bug fix update that should make the game a little less confusing and more beatable! Thanks for playing! :D

You guys are such champs, thank you so much for spending so much of your valuable time playing my unpolished game! Since the theme of this Jam was, "it's been there the whole time" I put the front door key back into the door when it closes behind you. Unfortunately it's so small, and if your flashlight goes out there isn't much light to see it.

The flashlight can be reloaded with R, just like a gun, but there's a bug when you combine it in your inventory that consumes all your batteries at once, so that kind of broke the game a little.

I'm really sorry about that false key upstairs, I had no idea that was there. This is a good lesson in why it's better to build off of a blank scene rather than a demo scene. I removed so many items and rearranged quite a few things, but simply didn't know about so many of the "interesting" items there. Oh well, learning such lessons are what these Jams are for!

Again, thank you guys so much for playing, and I hope it was an enjoyable experience! I'll try to get to your submissions soon!

I also got stuck inside the house, I don't think I saw the key anywhere, I even thought I had to burn the voodoo doll but nothing happened when I tried lol

The game is beautiful, I hope to see more

Grave Goods is a compelling entry in the game jam, and I really appreciated the atmospheric elements you incorporated. The use of fog effectively creates a creepy and unsettling ambiance, perfectly fitting the theme of the game. It really adds to the tension and makes exploring the environment feel immersive.

One area that could use some improvement is the flashlight mechanic. The batteries seem to die a bit too quickly, and there aren't enough spares around the map. This made it challenging to progress at times, especially when visibility is crucial for navigating and solving puzzles. I understand you're aware of this issue, so I won't dwell on it, but a slight adjustment here could significantly enhance the gameplay experience.

I also want to highlight that the jump scare in the bathroom genuinely got me! It was well-placed and effective, adding a nice surprise element to the game. The toaster moment was another good touch that caught me off guard.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the game, or at least I think I didn't. I couldn't find the key to exit the house, despite searching thoroughly for about 30 mins. I did come across the key you mentioned was misplaced on the table, and I also found one on top of the fireplace, but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to interact with it since I couldn't pick it up.

Overall, great job on the game! If you plan to continue working on this project and have any questions about the Ultimate Horror FPS Kit, feel free to reach out. I've dug pretty deep into it myself and would be happy to help.
