The button for firing grenades being "r" makes it hard to steer and fire at the same time.  The explosions being delayed and the enemies being invsible for half the time makes hitting them difficult.  I found the optimal way to play was just upgrade speed and turning, then lure enemies into the room where you are targeted by explosions.

I'd suggest adding a "torpedo" that directly fires without costing anything.  Right now, it seems like the player is incentivized to never fire anything and just kite enemies into dying in another room.

Fun game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah definitely need to improve the weapons and making it more incentivized for the player to kill them rather than going into that big room. Thanks for the feedback :D

I really love this kind of games. Thanks for posting this

Developer

Thank you!

Well executed! The visuals are perfect. It was sometimes frustrating when my grenades would bounce off the enemy but all the upgrades made sense and I appreciated the various weapon types. It was super satisfying to land a solid cluster bomb. It would be cool to see the % values or the level of each upgrade so I can tell what level I have each stat and which ones are due for an upgrade.

Developer

Thank you and glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the suggestion as well, I'm definitely going to add that in future versions :D

Nicely balanced prices for upgrades (especially having a low cost for health). Loved the landmines and grenades giving you a chance to fight back. I feel like it was lacking visually, but it's amazing what you accomplished with such simple visuals. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Game is cool and looks really good! i like the idea of the upgrades i just think being able to see the mines we place and maybe some more HP would be cool

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'll think making your mines more visible and adding more HP in the future versions as its not a bad idea :D

Submitted(+1)

This one's interesting. I like the visual effects used.

Developer

Thanks :D

Simple but actually looking good :) movement was bit slow but in this case I think it's advantageous

Developer(+1)

Thank you :D

Finnaly I'm able to leave a comment. So, I really liked your game. Personally I'm not a big fan of this genre, but for some reason the simplicity of the gameplay made it a little addictive haha. However, i didn't have any sounds, i dont know if its supposed to be like that, or no.

Developer

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it! There's a volume slider in the settings that allows you to increase it :D

Submitted(+1)

Changed the sound rating immediately XD

Cool concept. Great aesthetics. Nice audio. This has good potential.  I recommend increasing the turning speed a little bit. And introduce attack mechanics/shop items one by one over time instead of introducing all of them at once as it feels overwhelming.

Here's my jam game Reporter Rex: The Haunted Theatre

Developer

Thank you! Definitely going to work on this game and try and turn it into something better :D

Submitted(+1)

One of the best visuals and sound out there! but please set the volume higher.

Developer

Thanks! I wish I did set the starting volume higher, in settings there is a volume slider you can increase! Glad you enjoyed it still :D

Loved the art and visual effects!

Developer

Thank you :D

I love the whole feel of this game and the strategic gameplay i suppose the most you could do would be to make scarier enemies and more complex maps but honestly this is great

Developer

Thank you! I'm most likely going to work on this game some more after and will definitely add scarier enemies and more complex maps!

There’s a VETREX-like vibe that I really like, and the idea of being able to upgrade in real time is appealing. It took me a while to differentiate between “enemies” and grenades and other devices, until I understood that the red circles simply represent danger (and green means no danger) as shown on a sonar.

At first, I wanted to fight all the enemies, but then I realized it was better to play strategically!

Nice job on your game. :)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :D

The visual effects are really well done! I'm not sure if it was a bug but I didn't hear any sound while playing

Developer

Thank you! I did set the default sound really low, in settings you can increase it :)

super cool visuals :o also i love the overall idea! i kept blowing myself up tho :( maybe a skill issue or smth..

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Happens to me as well xD

I love this. you went with simple assets and a signal-y aesthetic with enemies. I really dig the potential here. You nailed the game loop, this shit is addicting. I agree that the shop should be limited to certain areas as others have said, but I think the balancing on upgrades is perfectly acceptable. I also love the level progression that you implemented, there's different areas, all hallmarked by different pings, like giant radius explosions, or just a minefield of red, the concept is there.

Your implementation of limited vision and visual pings for the level design gives this game so much potential for expansion. You could do anything with that concept, and what I imagined would be exceedingly prolific, is to introduce new 'scarier' entities, visualized only by the red pings as usual, but interfaced through sound and behavior. Capitalize on the fact that we cant see exactly what we're looking at. I'm excited to see if you keep developing this one.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm definitely thinking of ways to improve and expand this game, I had so many ideas that I sadly had to scrap due to the limited time but I'm really thinking of working on this game a lot more now :D

Aside from Fullscreen issue for PC version, and movement being way too slow (probably because the player design being arcade based my brain tell me why it's going slow). The game is great.

Good simple visual and really love the concept.

I don't like the shop being open all the time kinda kills the atmosphere for me atleast.

Fun game, great job

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah the player speed can be slow at the start will definitely improve that after and I definitely agree with the shop being open all the time can get in your way, sorry about the fullscreen not working it was my first time trying to implement a fullscreen option. Glad you had fun :D

I really like these types of games; the gameplay felt super cool and arcadey, and the visibility mechanic did put me on edge when I was doing well. It was fun, simple, and I want to play again to get a better score, haha. I think this game could really benefit from a high score mechanic or a leaderboard! Really well done, I enjoyed it a lot!

Developer

Thank you! I'm really thinking of working and updating this game lots more so I probably will add a high score and leaderboard system :D

fun game with nice simple design :)

Thank you :D

A fun little arcade game with some interesting decisions that need to be made on the fly--no break from controlling the little triangle to think it over!

That said, the horror theme didn't really come across for me. Also, I'm not sure if it was just me, but I wasn't getting any sound. Lastly, I wasn't able to make the game full-screen--that meant the only way to get the whole game on the screen was to zoom out on my browser.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I agree the horror isn't really there sadly, sorry you didn't get sound or unable to full screen it they should work in the settings but might be broken :(
