Hey buddy, don't get discouraged! Game developing is quite a hard task, but consider that we are blessed by have the chance to learn such a wonderful thing. Getting demotivated and self-doubting ourselves is a recurrent point that every developer ends up on, but trust me there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and you can make it! Just trust the process and have faith :)

Yep, try to work on a speficic project for a period. Focus on nailing and understanding the main features you want to implement in that (UI,code, visuals, music, animation, etc.) then finish it. Once your game is finished (of course not polished af but just finished) you can decide to go to the next one or polish it. The main point is you have to understand new stuff while getting errors or things that are less known to you, so you improve your skills over and over.
I tried it, and yea not much gameplay you get. But it works. Hope you find more motivation for the next jam again!
Well yeah, not much to see but hey, what's there works pretty well! I'd rather play a real simple game that runs than something with many buggy features ^^

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't motivated to finish the game for this jam. I did like the idea behind it, though. I find games that are parodies of certain genres to be quite interesting.
Yeah, I did have another idea before it, but I felt like it was to ambitious for me, especially in the time period of a jam.
If you want to know what the idea was, it would have been, kind off a sequel to Switch Testing Grounds, where Spirate sends a drone with a camera to explore more of Sprite World (oh yeah, forgot to mention I updated STG, the drone, if you can call it that, is in the new background).
Absolute shovelware! and lovely waste of time :D you should update it for sure! just add a weird monster that follows you and your golden.
My teams game was also about a maze if you would care to try it :D
Yeah, I should make an update.
The game was originally supposed to be a horror game parody, with jpegs of monsters chasing you. However, I just didn't feel motivated to make it fully, mainly because I wanted to work on an update for another game. I didn't want to just not do something for the jam, so I just modified what I did, and called it a day.
I'll be the first to admit that this game is crap. Its very short, and I rushed the menu's. Maybe I'll make an update to it, but I wouldn't count on it.
I would also like to say that this game doesn't reflect the quality of some of my other games (it's better then most though, although those ones aren't on itch), so if you actually want to play an actual good game I made, then check out my itch page (don't play Pizza Presser though, it's worse then this).
