Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Everything from the controls to the sound design and atmosphere is smooth and very well put together. Jump scares aren't abused and are well planned which adds to the total horror aspect. I'd say one of the most suitable and slept on submissions for this game jam.
Thank you so much !
Cool! Just work on optimising the game, because as good as unreal might look, not all pcs can run it. Also your pacing and your door opening mechanics. However, it was a creepy experience!
Thanks For Playing! Ye the optimization is bad in this game.I will work on it.
This game was full of good idea, this would be a lot better with some pacing as I feel you have a scary event every 30 seconds, but in the context of a Jam I can understand that pacing is not an easy thing to do.
But the last key is very hard to find and I really think yo ushould palce it next to the dog, which is the center of the attention during this event, and not the TV. Door are weird to open, Either chose the Amnesia way with physics or the classic key input, because this mix of both is not ergonomic at all. Finally try to remove the error message in your build, and put majuscule on the first word on every sentences (Because You Tend To Write Like That).
I don't want to look overly critical, I liked the experience and I'm pointing at things just to help you create a better game, you have interesting ideas and I would play of full game made by you
Thank you! Overly Critical is a good thing because it lets me know what works and what doesnβt since everyoneβs playthrough is different and every player figures stuff differently. As for the game, its a prototype made for the jam with mashed together ideas .But because i found it fun working on this i will continue,i have a story planned out for this game with 5 chapters in total. If you are interested keep an eye on it :)
Love the Windows when you first start XD Epic. I turned off the lights and lamps in the noose room expecting something scary. maybe I needed to turn them back on. IDK, but still epic...
Thank You!
I could not for the life of me figure out how to open the double doors. I had picked up the key but it wasn't working. The movement was kind of slow and sprinting would only work for a second before stopping. Also, jumping felt out of place, I think you could have removed it.
For what I did play I'd say, the rain VFX and SFX are very atmospheric and I like how the volume is based on the distance from the windows. The thunder was quite nice too. Its also cool you had an inventory where I could see previous notes and stuff.
Thank you The doors apart from the doors that you βleave the houseβ are physics based. You just press the key to open them and then you push them with your character.I could have made them to open all the way at the press of a button but I found it more realistic that way. But from what I have seen you are not the first one to have trouble with them π
Beautiful graphics and sounds! Dosnt even lag on untra wide. Only some text anchored on the left side of the screen, even though they seem to belong in the middle of the screen, I think? (The one that warns about the game content).
And some colision boxes are a bit off. could just go ontop of the PC monitor in one of the rooms.
But anyway. I love the details that you can turn off every light. And like I said, the graphics are astounding! The interaction feels good and i like how you can look at the objects!
(and the debug console is still enabled)
Thank You!
Nicely intense. Good job.
Thank You!
scary stuff! only played for 10mins and had turn graphics down for my shitty GPU but this is terrifying lol. awesome work
Thank You!
