That stupid barrel got me good.
Excellent work on the sound design, I think that was probably the high point. Add me to the list of people who had no idea about the flashlight until after they died, 90% into the game... that would've been handy haha. This is probably the most "immersive" horror game I've seen so far, so, good job on that for sure.

That barrel was one of the first things I put into the game and when testing various things over the development week it also got me so many times as I simply forgot I’d implemented it. And yeah I think I’m going to either add a prompt to tell the player about the flashlight or just have it on by default.
Scary stuff!
I sadly took a wrong turn and fell off the map :(
Good work with audio!
One of the best game of this jam, It really tensed me.
Still I think you the notes weren't doing anything in this game except abruptly stopping the rythm of the adventure. (and be careful there are some typos here and there)
Overall nice job it's really impressive considering the time limit
Great work on the atmosphere and design of this! I personally think the brightness was fine on this, it added to the horror
The game is a little too dark I kinda understand it for the first area but for the second area I had a really hard time trying to find my way around the house and I ended up stuck on the paintings.
edit: i didnt know there was a flashlight. to make it a little easier you could possible start with the flashlight on when you start the game and then people have the option to turn it off from there cause I had no idea it was in the game.
I wish something happened with the black room next to the power box too as i thought something was going to come out and chase me but it was still a nice little jumpscare top get people even more on edge.
I really loved the atmosphere and the sound design was on another level I seriously fell in love with the atmosphere especially when you leave the first level and headed off to the house it really gave me resident evil vibes!
Overall this was a really good and extremely well designed and lay'd out game :D
Old Review:
I think the game is a little too dark. It was straining on my eyes to try and see where I was going. If I could see a little bit further ahead it would have been nice.
The level design was neat. The little story at the beginning was neat. It wasn't the scariest mainly because I didn't really expect much scare, if maybe there were more things happening like more barrels being knocked around or just more ominous music queues playing, then maybe it would have been scarier. The mini puzzles were neat too.
Overall pretty good submission.
Edit:
Just read one of the other comments. Did not realize there was a flashlight. I saw you put it on the game page, be warned people rating your game from the jam submissions page have to manually click to view your game page to see the controls. Since most people won't do that I would highly recommend having the flashlight on by default or text at the start explaining controls.
Edit:
Just played again with the flashlight. So much nicer to play. I made it to the second area but got stuck on the paintings puzzle.
I really like the map design. Also the thematic change from indoors to the little outdoors area kept things visually fresh. The sound design all around is pretty cool; really sets the mood.
I am sorry, but I couldn't play your game. Even with my monitor at maximum brightness, it was too dark to see anything.
Wow, just wow!
I loved your game so much! This is the scariest thing I played in a while!
Congrats!!
I've really liked that, been honest, It would be great a collab some day if you want!
I've made my game in UE5 too and forgot to add Vulkan and DirectX 11 support in the building settings. This ended with me uploading my game 2 hours later from submission period... I was almost crying when I contacted the host and he authorized me to send the update!
I feel that. I was very close to not submitting in general because when I built the game for it to be "Shipped" all the megascans I had were suddenly black and I couldn't find anything on how to fix it. I just gave up and submitted a Dev build instead. I suppose that will teach me to use the latest engine version.
