Played the updated version. There were no light problems as far as I could tell.

Neat aesthetic. I almost missed the house escape, had I not been streaming. My trick or treating went entirely as planned, I collected four pieces of candy, and then I couldn't knock on any more doors. But I was told there was more, and on a second attempt I was, indeed, yeeted.

Weird and funny game, I enjoyed playing. I love the aesthetics, great work!

Thanks for playing :)

This is a weird little game! I like the subversion of the idea of 'trick or treating' to something a little spookier. Scrambling for a way out of a creepy dark house definitely kept me on my toes. I think a little more environmental storytelling could have made the experience clearer, but I did like the sinister looking hints that the house was not a normal one...

Thanks for submitting the game to SCREAM JAM!

Thanks for a great jam!

We'll be looking to add interactive story items throughout the basement and the house to fill in the gaps.

Managed to make it out. It was extremely dark, especially once inside the house. The key was in enough light to find, but making your way there was difficult due to there being so little light.

I had no frame issues running it.

Even so, it was a pretty cool idea and it seems to have a nice thriller vibe to it. It was a bit short, but it's a game jam so it's perfectly understandable.

Good job. Hope you continue making games, I'd like to see what you come up with.

Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

There's definitely more work to be done for the inside of the house e.g. lighting and other little interactive story bits :)

Too dark and no self light.. Could be better optimized.

Developer

Thanks for playing! We're currently working on the lighting.

What are you seeing to warrant optimisation, low frames?

Submitted

Yes, frame issues.

I don't know what I'm suppose to do in the basement other than play with the lights

Developer(+1)

Use the lights to find your way out via another ceiling door.

It's on our to-do list to make this more obvious/point players in the right direction.

I got stuck in the house right after :P I just suck at it.

But it's funny so who cares

I couldn't see anything in your game. Maybe my monitor is a bit dark, but it would have been nice to have a brightness slider for a game that has so many dark sections.

Developer

Thanks for this!

Had a few people play before release who said it was dark, but not unplayable, so will look to add settings/a brightness slider to help cases like this.

If it continues to occur then I will increase the default brightness.

The title alone makes me smile! :D

Thanks!
