Simple but fun game, and high degree of perfection! nice game! The graphics reminded me of hollow knight, which is my favorite game!
+: graphics, music, gameplay
-: a little unintuitive, leaderboard size
Great little game, i really enjoyed playing it. It takes quite a bit to get used to the sword mechanics, but hey, it's so damn fun! The art style is on point too! Really curious to see how this game will evolve
I suicided at 20k points. The game is really fun, but the difficulty doesn't scale so once you figure out the mechanic you can run it forever. I love the concept, but the sword mechanic broke really early into the run, so I was stuck at little baby sword forever :[
Great job with the game. Absolutely wonderful and with a little polish no-one would ever know this was for a jam.
-Submitted LEGIONS and Xenon- (Itch doesn't show both)
I appreciate the dedication! Thanks for playing, I'm sorry to hear about the bugs, we were definitely wrestling with a bunch for a while so unfortunately I'm not surprised that some slipped through still. And the difficulty was a big thing, we made the cauldron headed guys more frequent but I'm pretty sure the chance actually decreases over time for them to spawn for some reason, but there isnt much we can do about it now. Thank you for the thoughtful feedback!
This game played really well. I wasn't very good at making the sword work with me, but that was clearly my fault and not the game's. Still had fun with it, although a small detail is that the text in the leaderboard "enter your name" is really small. Like i-missed-it-for-a-minute small. But its a pretty minor inconvenience i figured out afterwards.
Well, that's the best mechanic I've ever seen. But when I got over 2000 points that strip on the top was no longer updating. And when I had over 5000 points and wanted to submit my score, it didn't count :(
The way the sword works is really creative and has a lot of skill expression, I really enjoyed this one. I got a bug though where I lost with 1 life left, and when I replayed after that my sword was in a different part of my screen. Other than that though tons of fun
"I love being a beyblade" is not a sentence I ever though I'd write, yet here we are. Loved your game, the main mechanic was super interesting (as was the sword-growing mechanic, but I feel the beyblade method of attacking was the highlight here) and it's just good, simple fun. The armored enemies clanging your sword and forcing it to go the opposite direction is such a neat little detail that can completely change gameplay and prevents the player from just swinging the sword haphazardly. Stellar job, five stars all around!!!
I never thought I wanted to play a game where I need to become a human beyblade to succeed, but here I am spending 30 minutes trying to wiggle my way to success. At first, it was a bit rough, but after some trial and error it become loads of fun. One issue I noticed was that the leaderboard didnt seem to update as I am pretty sure I got a score that would have made the top 5 ish, but nothing updated. Either way, it was a fun game, cute enemies, and a lot of spinning. A awesome submittion.
Very cool game! The attacking is a little jarring at first, but once you get a rhythm it's super fun. You almost have to dance with the sword to kill enemies and I love it!
What a unique attacking mechanic! It took a little bit of time to get used to the way the sword moves, but it felt very natural after a couple of goes, and it fit the heavy controls of the character very well. It would have been cool if you got a few points or something for hitting one of the enemies with the sword, and also if you could see your position on the leaderboard immediately after finishing. Also, the sound design was excellent. Great work!
